  • I honestly really like what they do with the fingerprinting. But it’s just a straight trade. Now amazon can’t follow me directly, but Brave will certainly sell Amazon the info that I shopped at Home Depot looking for discontinued air filters :)

FF fingerprinting with UO and privacy badger are by no means bad, they are actually quite acceptable.

  • rumba@lemmy.ziptoFirefox@lemmy.mlThis is not a good look for brave.

Firefox started blocking YouTube ads without plugins?

You can also set it to

Grandma isn’t going to go into security settings. I really with FF would just make it the default on install.

Everything in that list can easily be made the same, but they’re not the same without some basic knowledge of wanting it.

  • The real good: Baked in Youtube ad-blocking with a full dev team playing keep up with youtube Better at anti-fingerprinting Built-in mediocre TOR support.

The real bad: They will sell your data. They will sell your data from their VPN

The rest of their bad is optional. Don’t use them for search and don’t use their crypto.

If you’re going to use them, at least keep a fully equivalently outfitted copy of firefox, you don’t want to get stuck if they finally decide to turn full evil.

  • Definition 1: a theory that explains an event or set of circumstances as the result of a secret plot by usually powerful conspirators

Definition 2: a theory asserting that a secret of great importance is being kept from the public

The point here is that a lab leak is no longer a debunked conspiracy theory.

You want a conspiracy theory? Republicans have a narrative to drive and they’re in all the committees and are still running several of those agencies. There’s a disagreement at best that it did or didn’t happen while the people investigating have a stated agenda. That is not, by definition. Debunked or Debunking.

This is what people always say when

    See definition 1 and 2

However McDonald’s does force their franchises to buy a particular piece of equipment that breaks easily

    See definition 1 and 2

  • Definition: a theory that explains an event or set of circumstances as the result of a secret plot by usually powerful conspirators

also : a theory asserting that a secret of great importance is being kept from the public

Those aren’t all conspiracy theories. Those aren’t all even true

The Wuhan findings led by a Republican Inquisition team with an agenda and is hotly contested.

Remote car hacking was never a conspiracy theory. It’s a vulnerability, it’s not there on purpose or put there by a super secret plot. It wouldn’t even make sense as a conspiracy theory.

McDonald’s doesn’t break their ice cream machines on purpose. J.M. Taylor just refused to give them access to reset system errors related to real problems and operation.

  • Hardly anyone ever says mysql is better. Postgres has a lot of nice features, But they’re still a hell of a lot more people out there with mySQL experience.

If for some reason you really want to go mysql I would urge you to look into percona and percona tools. It’s incredibly fast super optimized. The tools let you do backups that my sequel could only dream of.

That said, if you don’t have any strong needs for mySQL, and you don’t have any experience with it I would probably start picking up postgres.

  • 7th gen intel, 96GB mismatched ram, 4 used 10TB HDD, one 12 with a broken sata connector that only works because it’s sitting just right in a sled. A couple of 14’s one M.2 and two sataSSD. It’s running Unraid with 2 VM’s (plex and Home Assistant), one of which has corrupted itself 3 times. A 1080 and a 2070.

I can get several streams off it at once, but not while it’s running parity check and it can’t handle 4k transcoding.

It’s not horrible, but I couldn’t do what I do now with less :)
