You should see the post now. All the top comments are talking about downvote bots and fake conservatives as comments saying that it’s illegal to ask for transparency are getting over 100 downvotes. They really go to great lengths and mental gymnastics just to assure themselves that they are all on the same side and everyone else is wrong. And if you don’t 100% agree with everything that the government is doing you are a fake conservative, a bot, or their sub is getting invaded by the libs.

And I love how they always tell liberals that the internet isn’t the real world and that they are just living in an echo chamber while they live in the biggest echo chamber I have ever seen. Where posts are only made by like 7 people and nobody is allowed to comment unless you have flair that says you can. And if you disagree in any way you get banned.

To me this one is sus

I remember visiting the sub back in 2016 before it turned into to the_donald 2.0. Like, anyone could post there, it was garbage but it was fine. I might be mixing it up with r/askconservatives in my head, it was a long time ago, but overall I remember them being at least open to having outsiders contribute.

This dude acting like “been here since 2020” is a thing.

You’re correct on all counts. It was fine in the beginning, you could definitely have good faith arguments about opinion-based stuff. I think you could even choose a left wing flair.

Then MAGA took over the sub…which led to brigading…which led to paranoia about brigaders…which presumably led to Flaired Users Only (I got banned before that change so I’m not sure)
