Until my laptop dies or cannot support it, I’m sticking with KDE Plasma. Love how MX configured it (because I’m lazy) and absolutely will keep using it for as long as my laptop survived or can hold it.
Might try other ones in VMs (like ratpoison) in the future for other machines I might set up in the future, but for now KDE Plasma is my go-to that I’ll probably be using for a long time.
Damn this is something I need to look into.
The only thing that makes me question that is my current laptop not having a working headphone jack port. It’s most likely a hardware issue that I would need to put a ton of work into figuring out why it isn’t working properly. It’s a Samsung Galaxy Book, so I would have to look up the specific model and find out what hardware they use, which I’m not too fussed about since I can just begrudgingly use bluetooth.
Same type of issue with the last shitty worse-than-a-toaster laptop with detachable touchscreen monitor laptop I used to have that ran Ubuntu (my first experience with Linux in general).
Headphone jacks on laptops are the bane of my existence when it comes to Linux (obviously not including android because I count that as its’ own separate entity).
If I could afford it, alongside other things I’d need to consider, at this point I’d definitely do it.
Just got into the pokemon fan game “Pokemon Eclesia” last night, so I’m probably gonna be playing through that demo throughout the week if I don’t get bored of it. Pretty cool game so far, but has a fair bit of swearing.
Otherwise, I was getting back into Gemcraft: Chasing Shadows. Being the idiot I am, I just now found out how to quickly power level. Don’t know how much more if the game is left, let alone how to unlock the higher difficulties, but definitely wanna finish it on the easy difficulty at least once before I die.
That’s me right now. Just recently sent an issue report to Proton over the fact I have not been able to connect to their servers on my Linux running laptop for almost a week at this point and have given up on trying to self-disgnose and fix it on my own using what little skills I have and whatever information I could find through web searches. The worst part is how it effortlessly works perfectly on my desktop running windows 10.
Got an itch(dot)io bundle of games that goes to helping French devs, so I’ve been playing a couple of those. Specifically Flipon and Blocks That Matter.
Outside of those, also got into Symphonia and it’s pretty fun and so far has an amazing soundtrack. Also trying to make a level pack for Baba Is You, which is definitely harder than I thought it would be using the in game level editor.
Couple days ago I accidentally removed a package, not fully understanding what would happen. Ended up logging out thinking nothing of it. Couldn’t log back in as there were zero sessions available. Also, for some reason a huge on-screen keyboard kept popping up a lot when I’d click on the login panels things.
I am very grateful my distro came with Timeshift by default and that I had a backup from the day before to fix everything. Also glad Rescuezilla allowed me to install Timeshift and restore.
Doesn’t matter who you are or what you believe, it’s definitely a rite of passage to break your system once. That is something I’ll always agree with.
Just like the original, I refuse to watch the sequel because their 3D model for Ne Zha makes them, to me at least, look like an ugly gremlin creature that crawled out of a cave and has just started joining civilization. Movies like Legend of Hei definitely have the better looking depiction of Ne Zha in my opinion.
So long as the game doesn’t lag enough that I have input lag, I’ll gladly play through a game at prettyich any FPS.
Don’t know what’s going on at 2K, but I gladly took the offer and even got the bundle for a Steam friend I haven’t talked to for years.
Absolutely wild and I thought it was some sort of error at first considering right below it they were advertising just BioShock Infinite and their DLC pass thing for more than the whole bundle by a little less than $2.
I definitely feel like I got an absolute steal of a deal. No idea when the sale ends, but I got all 3 games in the BioShock series, with DLC, and the 2 remasters for a little over $11USD before tax this weekend. I just finished my first time playing any of the games on PC. Had to install the original on my desktop with win10 because I couldn’t get the resolution right or brightness slider working on my steam deck when docked. Definitely prefer console controls because I was having a lot of trouble with mouse and keyboard controls, so I’m gonna have to switch to controller.
Other than that, I started playing Stellar Initiative this weekend as well and it’s was pretty difficult on the easiest difficulty while I was learning how to play and what works well with which enemies.
I think it’s still nice to have just so that way if for some reason Proton suddenly disappears alongside Wine (alongside all their forks and other related things) in some catastrophically low odds event you can still play the game or use the program.
A25 here, so far I’m in the same boat, bloatware and all.
That is exactly why I almost always open search results in a new tab.
Extremely easy question: Sonic The Hedgehog (AKA Sonic '06). Such a buggy mess, but I absolutely loved playing it on 360 and definitely wanna play it again some day.
I’ll take the 50/50 because those are some damn good odds!
Looks like the number of bots has increased. No same person would ever create an account on there, not since at least the 2010s.
I thought I heard rumblings on Xitter about Sega putting out a post showing Sonic Unleashed recently due to the Unleashed Recompilation project recently released, but I can’t confirm because I refuse to go there.I wasn’t able to find any posts about it on their BlueSky Sega West account, so I have no idea whether it’s true or not.
If it is true they might be thinking about making an official PC port, I might just hold off on starting over in the unofficial PC port and just stick with my save on xbox360… at least until news comes out that they’re going to somehow have ruined it due to evil DRM and some sort of microtransaction shop that allows you to play as Sonic, but get this! With green shoes instead of red! That, and the price being a full $60-70, if not $100 dollar game for a decade plus old game, with the caveat that the Recompilation project be shut down because it hurts their profits.
