  • You down vote me for saying the truth.

If you think installing Linux is hard you’ve either never done it and let other people dictate your opinions, you’re incompetent with computers or you can’t follow a simple step-by-step guide.

If you or someone you know sucks with computers, that’s fine. I get not moving someone from Win to Linux if they can’t understand the digital equivalent of tying their shoes. Just get a Chromebook if that’s the case.

Barring cases of disability, using Windows at a basic level is not hard. Most home users use it to browse the dust on the upper crust of the internet, write a doc, print shit and nothing more. I bet if you swapped Win for Linux on most people’s computers and riced it to look like Win 11 many of them would be none the wiser.

Also, if you’re a Lemmy user and you have a basic understanding of how this platform works I guarantee you have the basic capacity to successfully install Linux on an old computer.

  • I’d be down for this if it was sized appropriately to be conveniently held in one hand.

I bet this is delicious but I’m turned off by the size. Its just unwieldy and likely falls apart into a mess.

This is a bad example, but I think the McDonalds double quarter pounder is about as big as a burger should get. Any bigger than that and I’m not likely to order it no matter how good it looks.

Clearly I don’t like to be messy. Lmao

All genres of music need compression and saturation if you want the song to feel like its a cohesive thing; glued together, if you will. If you push it too far you get loudness issues. You can hear distortion artifacts and the instruments can start to kinda blend together too much, creating a bit of a smeared effect in certain frequency ranges. I’ll have to spin this on my speakers to see if I feel the same about it. I listened to it on headphones initially.

I streamed it on the Youtube Music app. I have it set for max quality. Its not like listening to lossless files, but its absolutely fine. This record is just loud like Death Magnetic is. They really saturated the hell out of almost everything. Makes for a harsh listen IMO. Lots of cool shit going on in the mix, but it feels smeared out in the 3khz to 6khz range.

  • Personal anecdote here: I run 40km/week so that I don’t have to be so picky with my diet. I’m offsetting about 2,400cal from my weekly intake.

That said, I need to be careful sometimes because my appetite can surge and I can easily break even and even surpass being in a deficit. Its just a matter of being aware of how much I’m eating in general and adapting to appetite changes.

That said, when I want a pizza I’m gonna smash that pizza down my gullet lol
