Fuck rock salt. Load them shells full of Benadryl and send em to the Hat Man.
Fuck rock salt. Load them shells full of Benadryl and send em to the Hat Man.
This. Build an army, 10 million strong! Waves upon waves! Let them try to contend with that!
That’s interesting and terrifying all at once. If the Indian government is successful, it will basically set the precedent for other powerful entities such as autocrats, oligarchs, and corporations to also force Wikipedia to edit their content to suit their desires. I donate frequently and will keep making sure they can win.
Hell, the Chicago PD had a blacksite modeled after CIA blacksites, called Homan Square. More than 7,000 people were detained there, and only 68 of them were ever allowed access to an attorney.
Well, given what we know about most commercial plastics, which are all derived from oil/complex hydrocarbons, the consumed plastic could be broken down into condensed carbon? Or would it be carbon gases? I’m speculating based on just what I know about plastics, what they are and how they’re made.
Most of SCOTUS is not in favor of “broad immunity”, for exactly this scenario. They want to make sure that Trump is never held responsible for his actions while in office, and that every President after Trump(if he doesn’t declare himself President for life) is criminally liable for everything. Trump has even said that he’ll have Biden prosecuted if he wins.
It smacks of the subprime lending that caused the Great Recession all those years ago. History doesn’t repeat but it often rhymes.
Reminder that student loans, like mortgages, are rolled up into an investment vehicle called the SLABS, or Student Loan Asset Backed Securities. Student Loan Forgiveness would tank the value of the SLABS, and I guarantee you our elected officials have money tied up in them. Since a student loan can’t be discharged through bankruptcy, it’s typically a very safe investment.
And when you consider that the debts are packaged into an investment vehicle, there’s no fucking way they’re going to vote on student loan forgiveness. Don’t want the value of all those securities to tank.
True, however, power concedes nothing without a demand. The only thing the powerful fear is losing that power. You can call for higher scrutiny of the upper class and corporations all you like, but they won’t do it unless forced to. And they’re also the ones who write national policy, so good luck writing a law to force them to do anything. It will be shoved into a shredder the second it enters the DC city limits.
Wait. Was this a felony? Okay, then I guess he’s not getting off lightly. Sure, he’s in prison for only 5 years, but after he gets out he’s still a felon. That means no voting, no gun ownership, no passport so he can’t leave the country, ever.
So, they gave him the maximum sentence, and the pro-Trump judge was pissed the sentence couldn’t be any higher? What a piece of shit.
Yeah. I mean, considering what they could have done, though, I’d say 5 years is less of a slap on the wrist, and more of a whack with a yardstick.
I think a better idea that universal basic income is universal basic services. Give everyone equal access to healthcare, food, housing, etc. Not jobs, though. Giving everyone a job leads to creating jobs that don’t need to exist just to make sure everyone has work. The USSR had guaranteed employment and that got to where you’d have to go through three different clerks at the supermarket to buy a pound of meat. Also, the State decided what was and wasn’t “work”. Oh, you’re a painter? You think the State will pay you to paint? That’s nice. Pick up that shovel and paint a ditch in the dirt. Oh, you are poet? I have a poem for you, comrade!
Roses are red, violets are blue, load those crates into that truck, or it’s the gulag for you!
Exactly. If they had nobody else to hate, they would eventually turn on themselves. They would get to a point where nobody would trust anyone,
They’ll see that and say, “Bet.”
Fuck em. Ignore them until they cross the line, then come down on them like a ton of bricks. No more playing nice, no more treating them like reasonable adults.
Damn straight! As a parent to an actual toddler, sometimes I have to take my son’s toys away until he chooses to behave. Does that make me the “bad guy”? Maybe. But it’s also part of being an adult.
No matter what Biden does, they’re going to do what they’re going to do.
Ah, another Innuendo Studios fan, I see. Yes, just like he said in “Alt-Right Playbook Ep. 3, ‘You Go High, We Go Low’”,
Republicans are going to cry “So much for the tolerant left!” no matter what form our opposition takes, so the obvious solution is to just ignore them. But clearly it’s more complicated than that, or we wouldn’t be having this issue.
This business with the border is another example of them going low, and Biden and Democrats trying to keep the moral high ground.
These bills are ridiculous on their face, and I believe that is on purpose. The people proposing these bills know they haven’t got a snowball’s chance in Hell of passing, but that’s not the point. The point is to gum up the works.
That’s an incredible show of force. Imagine if they could all be brought into DC. The police and military would be overwhelmed, especially if they were organized and given clear roles with clear objectives and steps. This is a movement that ActBlue needs to be kept away from. We keep lists, but not for fundraising, for activating them into action. Giving money is not action. Registering voters is action, canvassing is action, helping our communities is action. That’s what this movement should be. Just action, and achieving a goal.
