    I actaully installed it.

AFAIK You can’t “run” battlenet though lutris, it needs installed for mods at least.

The “data” partition turned to actually be a windows partition, there isn’t any indication that isn’t paart of Linux that I could.

I was able to create a “games” folder under my user’s “home” folder and install battlenet (and Wow) there, So I hoping I can then copy my mods over.

    To be continued…

    thanks for your help

  • They were “decent” 14 ish years ago. And they worked a fair amount. I know married friends who met on them.

That said the Internet in general has fallen off a cliff with enshitification…

I know people today that still use them and do ok.

“Free” anything is going to be complete shit.

Like anything else in life it takes work, during 8 months I was doing it I spent 10-15 hours on it. And that wasn’t “scrolling” profiles. I was constantly tweaking my profile, looking for was to improve it. Also when I did “match” someone I worked on my greetings, interesting things to say, etc.

I would even keep snippets of texts. (The one I was on had a question/answer part.

Dating is a lot of work for many people.

  • While I fully agree Netflix is gouging customers.

This chart doesn’t tell the whole story, and is pretty misleading.

When Netflix started it was getting great content CHEAP. Content owners were just happy to get extra licensing money. Then online streaming exploded, and content owners started asking insane unsupportable fees. Or just refusing to lease, and start their own service. That’s why Netflix is becoming a producer.

Not trying to defend anybody. Just pointing out out the danger of only looking at one metric and not the whole picture…
