  • The Amazon situation was the first I’d heard about this problem so I assumed it was the same reason it happens on WM (and elsewhere). And while I certainly don’t expect Walmart to actually read reviews, I would think they would be concerned about potentially losing sales due to projecting a bad image and try to at least (poorly/cheaply) implement a system to address it.

Assuming it’s not like an email based feedback system but something with an asynchronous connection, it can’t be too hard to look for a handful of keywords (dent, missing, broken, spilled, delivery …) then throw up a Clippy-style message - “It looks like you’re talking about a problem with your order, would you like customer service to assist?” and then route the message/user in that direction.

I know I’m expecting a lot from our primitive technology in 2025 but I refuse to stop dreaming, dammit!

    The Chicken and the Pig

The fable of the Chicken and the Pig is used to illustrate the differing levels of commitment from project stakeholders involved in a project. The basic fable runs:

A Pig and a Chicken are walking down the road.
The Chicken says: “Hey Pig, I was thinking we should open a restaurant!”
Pig replies: “Hm, maybe, what would we call it?”
The Chicken responds: “How about ‘ham-n-eggs’?”
The Pig thinks for a moment and says: “No thanks. I’d be committed, but you’d only be involved.”

  • I’m just not interested in having another source of non-stop (undisclosed) advertising trying to appear as organic engagement and am announcing it publicly in the hopes that they either limit their use of it or to at least make others aware what the user is doing.

It would be one thing if they were announcing they own the site but it’s the only place they link to and it gets shoehorned into multiple communities with calls to go visit it.

  • AFAIK it’s the Blu-ray “Skynet edition” release.

Seems like there might be a lot different versions of releases, saw a Collider review which mentions a Japanese version being “somewhat better” and mentions “There’s production commentary from the laserdisc, with 26 participants, and the Cameron and screenwriter William Wisher commentary from one of the earlier DVD releases.”

On IMDB I saw this mentioned:

On the ‘Ultimate Edition’ DVD as well as the ‘Skynet Edition’ Blu-ray, there are three versions of the film, albeit only two at the menu, the Theatrical and Special Edition versions. However, highlighting the ‘Special Edition’ option and keying in ‘82997’ (August 29, 1997), will open a Extended Special Edition Option, with the T-1000 searching John’s room and an Alternate ending added on and replaced. Some DVD players may need to push ENTER between each digit.

In the totally legitimate digital copy it has both of those elements so it’s probably the ‘Extended Special Edition’ [Super Mega Turbo 2000]. I definitely prefer the theatrical ending.

    EDIT: Found this on YouTube
