It’s not that weird, given that they’re both examples of Fediverse software that can (in theory, though not well in practice) interact with each other.

As for Masto being separate instances; I’ve never really had a problem with that. Follow a bunch of people from different servers and you’ll soon begin to federate and link up with other people.

I see folks posting on Mastodon, griping that it’s failing, that it’ll never be as popular as Bluesky and Threads because of X and Y, and I’m like, I’m over there chatting to people all day, having a fine time, following new people, picking up new followers, and generally enjoying it more than I ever really enjoyed Twitter.

I don’t really understand why those folks want it to be more than it is.

If there’s a binary choice (and here in the UK it basically is), you’re going to vote for the candidate that broadly covers your requirements from government, conveniently ignoring the bits you don’t like. The alternative is to not vote at all because no one candidate or party can perfectly mirror your values.

My wife’s favourite has a button that scrolls through the various modes, but when you hold it for a couple of seconds turns it off. Shit’s a game changer. Even starts back up on the last used setting.

I watched the trailer for this earlier, mostly in surprise that the remake actually happened. I had no idea it was finished and ready for release.

Anyway, while you shouldn’t really judge a movie purely by its trailer, what I will say is that a crucial element that makes The Crow (comic and original movie) work so well is that Eric and Shelley are just normal people trying to live normal lives in shitty circumstances. We can see ourselves in them, falling (no pun intended) into a bad situation through no fault of our own.

From what I can tell, in this they’ve made them angsty, drug taking edgelords, because that’s…edgier, I guess. Why should we really give a shit about Eric Wick’s revenge tour when we can’t relate to him in the slightest?

I loved To The Moon, which fits your requirements, I think. The sequels are fine, but the stories are pretty well standalone, so you could play just the first one and leave it at that. And it’s only £1.70.

I finished that last week, and yeah, it’s wonderful.

We use Google Forms and Sheets at work, precisely because easy for a bunch of us to access, and our boss is tight as fuck, so it being free is a massive draw.

I keep looking to other ways to perform the few functions we use, but ultimately I lack the knowledge and resources to roll my own.
