Yeah, I’d love that. I think a good number of subs I end up downloading are written by some dude trying their best, and if they don’t know the language, they can’t really begin to guess how to spell the words. But anything released by a studio or on a streaming site has no excuse.

Canada used to do this, but then they switched to charging the disposal “eco” fee up front when you buy the product new. Everything from that point on has been free to dispose of. Any metal or electronics products are all saleable scrap though, so you can get paid for them if you take them to a metal recycler instead of the dump. A lot of places advertise free places to dump those products so they can take them in to sell. Some will even come pick them up for free as well. But if something doesn’t have an eco fee or isn’t otherwise valuable scrap or recyleable, you pay by weight to landfill it.

Not FYEO. It was intentionally written to ground Bond in reality after the absurdity that was Moonraker. He has one gadget, the Lotus, which gets blown up immediately, leading us into the iconic 2CV car chase. Even has Moore, well aware of the age gap between actors, blowing off the advances of the much younger Lynn-Holly Johnson by offering to instead buy her an ice cream. Great action sequences throughout, and one of the most kick ass Bond girls in Carole Bouquet.

The cow commercial alone was worth watching it for. One of the best bits in both movies. Sadly, the only funny part of the sequel.

I remembered loving it, so I put it on for my kids, and they thought it was great too. Definitely a fun movie.

Russia has been using low altitude approach and low altitude release with a quick pull up to lob the glide bombs in. The bombs have minimal range and accuracy, so Russia has just been throwing large bombs, and more recently, cluster bombs, to try their luck at hitting and damaging front line infantry positions. What they are doing works, is more effective than their artillery at killing Ukrainians, and has been going on for almost a year now with little to no reprisal from air defence. They aren’t going anywhere near 15km high, or forget Patriots, the Buks and S300s that Ukraine is comfortable keeping near enemy lines would hand them their asses.

From my understanding based on what I have read about the situation with the attacks on front line positions, they would need to move it further towards the enemy by about 10km past their lines to be able to pick up a plane flying just above the treetops to see it when it is within glide bomb launch range. I guess they could have given that a shot, but I am somewhat dubious.

They probably did the shooting down part, but something has changed. Russian pilots know how low they need to fly and how far away they need to be from the front to be able to launch 2000lb glide bombs at Ukrainian front line positions without being picked up by ground-based radar. And that has been stalling their offensive operations for a long while now. Ukraine didn’t extend their air defence by moving it forward. They must have done it by putting something in the air with a radar that can integrate with Western air defence systems. Being in the air instead of on the ground allows radar to see much further towards the horizon and suddenly the air defence can see into the dead area that starts about 30-40km behind enemy lines that the Russian planes have been operating in. This was one of the speculated roles of the F16s in Ukraine, and based on the reports of a sudden and precipitous drop in Russian glide bombing activity at the front due to their planes now being in missile range before they can attack, it wouldn’t surprise me if this is what has happened.

Hope they changed the combination on that airshield.

Sinkhole 3! This time it’s personal.

She’s asian and was the only candidate with major name recognition in the race, so she was on cruise for the win since she threw her hat in the ring. She was a federally elected representative for a riding in Toronto for the better part of a decade, and was a city councillor for even longer, so she has significant experience. Time will tell if that matters. She is probably not going to be outed as a crackhead at the very least, and as a widow is also unlikely to get caught up in any extra-marital affairs, so baby steps forward for Toronto mayors.

I think the other comparison we’re overlooking is how many people would be ok with “just a quick rinse” if they were washing shit off their hands.
