Correctly, smugly and pretentiously
I like these kinds of articles because of Betteridge’s Law:
What does this mean for Taiwan?
No
This would honestly be a lot easier
The Switch was an iterative improvement on the Wii U and while I wish they called it Nintendo Snap (how I heard the new sound effect) instead of drab numbering, I’d argue there are similar iterative innovations here–some likely to compete with the Steam Deck–without losing what’s working so far
Sounds like you’re salaried. Generally those jobs care about getting your work done more than watching a clock or waiting for phones to ring
If you have a decent boss, explaining what happened and asking if you can just take off a different day this coming week would probably be fine, even if Tuesday isn’t feasible on such short notice. Personally, I’d be gunning for Friday (assuming you have the normal weekend days off)
If that conversation is considered a problem, then it’s time to see if the company’s competitors are hiring for your position
That’s 600/yr and a long enough horizon that most diverse portfolios are likely to be net positive (I’m seeing about 5,000 gained with 8% growth in a basic savings calculator)
I’d spend those 10 years trying to free up cash flow but time’s a powerful weapon regardless
Theoretically? I’d imagine it’s equal (or close) to the difference between global money supply and global money supply but I don’t think that’s what you’re asking
At my work we have something in place that prevents somebody from sending to more than 50 recipients but we control our own mail servers and know how many people are in the largest department
Basically, things like this exist but aren’t necessarily intuitive to set up and defaults would require contextual knowledge
The name Salazar will now forever be translated to “French Dwarf Dude” in my head
Different jobs are different
Sorry for rambling
I agree in spirit but a CPI applied to military expenditure would be adjusting for prices of irrelevant items and could become very skewed at such large scales
Admittedly I don’t know have a better idea either so… Guess I’m hoping somebody smarter than me can chime in
Not sure what the science is between 2 images with no source or timestamp and nearly 20 years of technological improvement between them is but this isn’t the peak of Katrina
Katrina ultimately reached its peak strength as a Category 5 hurricane on the Saffir–Simpson scale on August 28. Its maximum sustained winds reached 175 mph (280 km/h) and its pressure fell to 902 mbar (hPa; 26.63 inHg), ranking it among the strongest ever recorded in the Gulf of Mexico.
It probably refers to its stats at landfall
Katrina weakened to a Category 3 before making landfall along the northern Gulf Coast, first in southeast Louisiana (sustained winds: 125mph) and then made landfall once more along the Mississippi Gulf Coast (sustained winds: 120mph). Katrina finally weakened below hurricane intensity late on August 29th over east central Mississippi.
But power doesn’t equal damage for weather
[Katrina] is the costliest hurricane to ever hit the United States, surpassing the record previously held by Hurricane Andrew from 1992. In addition, Katrina is one of the five deadliest hurricanes to ever strike the United States

Science!
Nobody can answer this question for you but I think to the countless examples of people not “getting out while they can” who are now–or were until their death–forever trapped in a bad situation that people today forget wasn’t that bad even within living memory
Is it right for you? I don’t know
Is it cowardly to let a sense of national loyalty compel you to be exposed to the mechanisms of government wielded by untrustworthy actors? No, and anybody saying otherwise is lying to you at best; lying to themselves at worst
Inb4 any what aboutisms: nothing I’ve said here is specific to any country
Those are 2 very different questions
More people always read the top-level comment
Certainly cite sources when relevant but never argue with a reply
It said the 62-year-old had died from a “self-inflicted” wound on 9 March and police were investigating.
Assuming there’s nothing more insidious than what’s thus far reported and maybe even if there is, this would be far and away the most damming thing a person could do to Boeing in the long run
Fruit bats, a banana peel, 2 of Saturn’s moons, the moment in time clothing was invented and anything else
