I will! I’m hoping to be able to go out and at least say hello to her some time this week, but that depends on the weather and how my dog is doing. My dog is really sick and I’m rushing her to the vet in a few mins. :(

She’s wearing the horse equivalent of a coat. I got it for her last month. It matches her halter lol.

Yeah. Horses can tolerate pretty cold temps, especially if they have blankets on. I don’t do anything with the horses below that, though. Some people work with horses at temps as low as 25F, but that’stoo cold for that imo.

It was 30F outdoors today. The barn was about 35F.

I don’t get to see her every day, but I try to post pics every time to see her! The weather here has been wicked cold or it’s been blizzarding, so I’ve had to put visiting the horses on hold. Today was the first day in about 2 weeks that I was able to see the horses. Can’t wait for spring!

I’ve experienced a man in my life being really fucking salty and super dickish about my successful career. It isn’t a husband or SO, but my stepfather. The man who, until recently, has been a great father figure.

I can’t talk about work around him without his mood immediately souring. Idk if he’s jealous that I have some disposable income and that I am making a little less than he is and I’m only 3 years into my career as opposed to his 25, but it’s really discouraging.

Finances are very tight for him and my mother and it’s almost entirely his fault because he is terrible with money. It’s really sad to see him act this way. According to my mom, he has bitched to my grandma (his mom) about me taking up horseback riding and doing things with my new friends because it can be expensive. My grandma yelled at him over it and said that me doing new things and socializing is very good and she supports it. Idk why he thinks my finances are his business either. Ugh. The man is so frustrating.

Sorry for ranting. Guess I really needed to get all that out lol.

I was asleep by 10. Woke up to so many texts and didn’t respond until I felt like it. It was honestly super nice. Just spent the night laying with my dogs and reading until I got sleepy.

Ikr? Poor girl just deserves the best, especially now that she’s so old. I got her her own blanket for the cold days/nights because she didn’t have her own. It has rainbow unicorns on it and matches her rainbow halter.

I would love to have enough money to own my own horse, but that’s probably years away. Sandy is very old, so I’m just giving her love like she’s my own so she can know what it’s like to have people who care for her during her last years.

I’m glad! Spending time with Sandy and the other horses at the stables is when I’m happiest and I want to share that with the world.

Lol Sandy wants more than treats, but she does appreciate it when I bring bananas. She knows that when I show up, she’ll get to leave her stall and exercise and get groomed and get lots of attention. Her owner doesn’t come around ever and nobody else except one old dude even pays her any attention. The old dude and I have pretty much adopted her and work together to give her the life she deserves. She’s very spirited, so a lot of people think she’s dangerous but she’s not. Well no less dangerous than any other horse.

I’m okay with not giving someone with disabilities and inheritance if it’ll fuck with any government money they’re getting for their disabilities. You have to handle money in that kind of situation very carefully. My mom is my life insurance beneficiary or whatever it’s called, but the money would be going to my sister. My sister is intellectually and physically disabled and cannot work. My parents handle her finances so she doesn’t lose her disability income, so my mom would be in charge of keeping that money for my sister and using it appropriately. When I make a will, most, if not all, of my shit (my house, car, etc) will go to my mom legally, but my mom knows my sister is the intended recipient and would help figure shit out.

I had an incredibly aggressiveale duck that would come after me all the time. He was big, like 20lbs at least, and I’d kick him in the chest with the side ofy foot when he came at me all angry like. His chest was the meatiest part of him, so I wasn’t worried about damaging him with kinda wimpy kicks. Bastard became soup real quickly, though. Overly aggressive birds in my flock don’t get the privilege of being pets.
