The reality is that CVS executives decided to hide their own faces. Pretty soon you’re going to find names being hidden next, and then corporations will truly be anonymous terrorists.

I think each woman has her own reasons (some people actually like traditions) but I have the impression that, globally, women are not the same as what we see online. I think today the taking of a surname does not indicate ownership or property, at least to most modern women (and men).

I don’t think any woman thinks like that anymore, or perhaps not many, so the motivations would then also be obviously different.

Yeah. Most people are probably experiencing the shock of what they thought the American people were vs what they are. It’s hard to understand and accept.

As foreigners, our views are heavily affected by things like Hollywood, celebrity and visibility to the “best of America”. But the bulk of America is not that, at all. So the veneer is torn away and it’s jarring to most people.

The only positive I see in all this is that we get to watch the US get what they voted for. Pain can be a teacher, but I doubt they can learn from it. Any and all agony from this will just be the other parties fault, always. Too much venom and malice in the politics and too little earnest substance.

Most Americans like and support Trump. That IS America.

30 years experience running enterprise development teams here. Switching databases has happened once for me, Sql Server to Postgres. We were busy with a huge rewrite of something existing, approx $100 million project for a major company.

The instruction to switch dbs came midway through the project, basically on the whim of the CIO. Luckily we were only lightly impacted by db specific features on a couple procs, but code base was abstracted away - which made it achievable.

That story is horrific, I can’t imagine living like that.

When I have a medical emergency (or even if it’s just a possibility) then I go straight to the ER. I might have a small administration cost to pay, but it’s easy enough to manage that I don’t have to give it a second thought.

My job isn’t linked to my healthcare, that sounds like insane leverage.

Myself and a multitude of others grow more and more openly hostile and polarized to this typical loud American attitude every day. Contributions like this are one small reason why, and the momentum isn’t slowing down. Your response isn’t thoughtful reflection, it’s just loud chewing.

At this point I don’t care anymore about how many of their own children they kill. It’s like my dramatic cousin phoning me and for the 50th time whining about her problems, that she makes, but is incapable of fixing.
