The answer will be “none” because unless they’re ex-military, their entire contribution to any militia is usually “gun”.

Most of them wouldn’t pass fitness requirements nor take orders. Few of them have other skills such as first aid, communication tech or drone piloting.

Even when contributing their gun, you can’t assume they know how to safely and usefully handle a weapon, or that they’re mentally fit for combat, because none of that is a requirement for buying a gun.

It’s a hero fantasy they’ve literally never thought critically about, but it’s supposed to make all the mass shootings worth it.

Music is an extremely important part of my life but there isn’t a single band that would make me give money to neo-nazis.

I don’t know why everyone is so eager to absolve them. If they have something to say in their defense, they can say it themselves.

They were Trump voters, so that’s inherent. They seemed enthusiastic about their son’s interest in guns because it’s right-wing.

But America makes guns available to shitty parents and rarely requires them to be properly secured from children, no matter how many red flags that child shows.

Stories like this will happen over and over again until that changes.

The media has been pushing division for decades now to keep the money hungry corporations happy. Local news has all been bought up.

Firearm manufacturers have been making record profits selling guns to people who shouldn’t have them, then using lobby groups to donate $16 million a year to Republicans – a figure that conspicuously doubled in 2012 after Sandy Hook.

The first sentences calls your very own example a “murder/suicide”, a term which is unquestionably more misleading than “mass shooting”. The “murder” isn’t even plural, despite there being 4 of them.

If you gathered up a million people, told half of them it was a murder/suicide and half of them it was a mass shooting, then asked them to guess the number of people killed, the latter would easily be closer to the truth.
