That’s nothing; my Ryzen 7000 machine uses 150w at idle. Modern high-end desktops draw a lot of power.

My X670E system also uses a shitload of power. Literally 150w at idle, no matter what I do. Tried disabling every unnecessary feature in the BIOS and enabling all the energy efficient settings I can find, to no avail. Drives me nuts.

1200w is unnecessary for these specs. I have a 7700X & a 4090 and my PC never draws more than 450w from the wall.

Why a 4090 now? A 5090 costs 11% more but is ~30% faster. If you’re going to get a high-end GPU, it’s a better bang for your buck.

Other than that, this is the exact PC I would build today if I didn’t build one two years ago. I currently have a 7700X, a 4090, 32GB of DDR5 6000, a 4TB WD SN850X NVME, and a Liquid Freezer II 360.

As much as they love to sue people, I don’t understand why Nintendo doesn’t go after Apple for trademark infringement, so that they’re forced to finally come up with a better method of storing folder attributes.
