My high school paid for everyone to take some type of career aptitude test. Everyone got a list of various possible career choices. Burned in my memory now is that I scored “region 99” which apparently meant my personality type didn’t fit any jobs. Or something. Like their magic 8 ball told me to try again.

I’m not saying any revenge of any kind is bad. Die Hard is not about revenge, John McClain is the one cop in the building when disaster strikes. Die Hard 3 is technically about revenge, sorta. But it’s not revenge as the whole plot, like what I was trying to describe. Where the hero is killing people as revenge for something that happened earlier. In a premeditated planned way. Revenge as a plot movies are all sorta the same.

The more I think about it the trend setting movie might have been Taken (2008) and it’s been a lot of revenge movies since then. And obviously there are old revenge movies too, but seems like that one plot line has taken over the entire Action genre.

Yes, like a mail in vote that arrived on election day. It wouldn’t be included in today’s “early voting” numbers, but it would have been included in the total number of mail in votes in 2020 that I’m comparing it too. But don’t expect a big change.

The 2020 numbers might be deceiving and impossible to compare to. Mail in voting was heavily expanded, which skewed Democrat, so early voting results in 2020 skewed Democrat. Then election day skewed more Republican than normal too. It’s not going to follow that exact pattern again.

Looks like the 2020 ticks are including mail in voting in 2020, which was heavily expanded during the pandemic. Places like North Carolina and Texas have immediately gone back to restricting absentee ballots. So yes there are less early votes, because they’ve gone back to restricting mail ballots.

Here I see there were just over 1 million votes by mail in North Carolina in 2020. Here I see that there were about 240,000 votes by mail in North Carolina through the 2nd. You could probably find a more up to date number, but you get the idea.

Really? I’ve been hearing about it for months. It was having trouble finding a distributor for theaters, despite the budget and the star power, which was seen as a bad sign. It’s being marketed as Francis Ford Coppola’s last big budget movie.
