The absence of conflict is not the same as the presence of justice. Maintaining peace and order is not always the most important thing, the very same logic is used by oppressive regimes to justify crushing dissent. I am not one of those people who supports Russian imperialism, which is why I take such issue with your characterization of the entire “radical left” as such. NATO maintains peace, yes, but it also maintains a status quo that is unjust. I do not want imperialism to continue, regardless of whether it is carried out by Russia or Western countries.

You’re misinterpreting what I said. I said that those who dogmatically support or oppose NATO are not much different, in that their reasons are similar. That’s why I referred to campism - the belief that the world is divided into large, competing political groups of countries (“camps”) and that people should support the camp that promotes their ideology. It’s a sort of lesser-evilism that people with all sorts of different ideologies fall into, and it can end up being used as a thought-terminating cliche. When you dismiss everyone with leftist ideologies by pointing to some campists who oppose NATO as the representatives of the entire “radical left,” you are doing this yourself. It robs the discussion of nuance and turns it into a contest between sports teams.

CPUSA is campist, which is a common tendency in every large political bloc. Those who dogmatically defend the US and NATO are not much different from those who dogmatically oppose them, intellectually speaking. When looking outside the overton window campists can seem like the only representatives of their ideological tendency, but they’re just the most visible. Campists who support the status quo fly under the radar due to their sheer number; it’s the default position for those who have not developed strong political opinions of their own.

You mean by endorsing Hillary and Biden? I had the impression that it was a minority of Bernie’s supporters that felt that was an unforgivable betrayal, though of course I could be wrong. Personally I don’t agree with those decisions and wouldn’t have done that were I in Bernie’s place, but it isn’t enough for Bernie to lose my support and I suspect many others feel the same way.

Bernie is doing it in a way that doesn’t alienate his base. He’s not pretending to be something he’s not, and is approaching Republican voters with authenticity. He’s not betraying his values or the values of his base. If you can’t see the difference, I’m not sure how to help you.

I’ve seen stills of Democrats waving to the crowd. In every one that I’ve seen they were exonerated by the context. The context of Elon Musk’s salute - in addition to his open flirtation with out and proud Neo-Nazis on Twitter - only makes it more damning. There is absolutely no way you can interpret it as a mistake.

It’s not exactly uncommon for systems set up to oppose something to end up supporting them instead. See the ADL covering for Elon and condemning those opposed to genocide as antisemitic. In theory the ADL should be opposed to fascism, but because Israel has become fascist they found themselves on the same side as those who had been and would be their oppressors.

When everything is propaganda, to say so is meaningless. Think more deeply and discover what particular flavor of propaganda you’re reading today.

That’s because it’s exaggerated, and the kids play into it rather than cringing and moving on like you might have when you were a kid and adults tried using your slang. The reason is that unlike previous generations, gen Z has incorporated it into youth culture as a result of the current state of the internet and has a name to call it by: brainrot.

Worked in a few kitchens when I was a teenager and those industrial dishwashers usually have a sink to the right of them and a flat surface to the left so you can slide trays of dishes through them from right to left. The dishwasher itself divides the dirty and clean areas so there’s no cross-contamination. If one were set up so that you just slide the tray in and back out the same way I don’t think that would meet hygiene standards.

I only watched the TV show so I don’t know the backstory, but if that’s the case it isn’t very true to life. Such strong social safety nets in a capitalist society could only ever be instated as a result of intense pressure from a mass social movement, and even then is unlikely to last. Automation will only increase productivity - which the capitalists will simply absorb in their pursuit of infinite growth - and never make it so that people can work less.

Except all the liberals insisted they would vote for Biden’s corpse before letting Trump win. What does it say about them if an actual progressive is the real dealbreaker?

Leftist fascism is called fascism, because the term leftist doesn’t actually mean anything but fascism and communism do.

You know vaccines work by stimulating your immune system, right? If you actually take the time and effort to try and understand something, you don’t have to trust the government fully to come to the conclusion that the vaccine is safe.

It’s just too bad you all facilitate the weak to reproduce. There’s a lot of blood on your hands.
