Perhaps one more thing. Life evolved around converting low Entropy energy (chemistry/narrow sun-rays), into high Entropy energy (black body heat), and in the mean time prosper for a while. So if we want to reverse time, we would both need to apply high Entropy energy to each ‘broken’ component of the early system, so the system can transitions back to a low Entropy state, and incredible luck (to exactly reverse the directional momentum necessary to transition back).

We can’t control/convert/utilize high Entropy energy, and even if we learned far out in the future, it would take even longer to be precise enough to even ‘flip’ an Atom.

Oh, btw. The universe goes from low entropy (‘Big Bang’) towards high entropy, but complexity - where Life can exist - can only happen in the middle, after the prior complexity evolved and before all low entropy energy is dispersed though-out the universe leaving Life with no energy to convert.

Well, I / We may still be wrong, but use of current AI for Philosophical/Scientific questions, propels our knowledge/intelligence to new heights. I think this will continue for a while. There must be millions of people that already feel they have become much smarter by chatting with an AI.

My equally valid opinion is that Western liberal/Capitalist education is exceedingly inefficient, and only optimized for wage-slavery. Notice how all the super ‘edumecated’ citizens from the west have been so easily propagandized to think that Russia is the bad guy. …China is the bad guy …socialism is bad …communism evil …Capitalism GREAT! You need more than a llm to do that. You need a Cognitive Architecture around the model that include RAG to store/retrieve the data. I would start with an agent network (CA) that already includes the workflow you ask for. This seemed to be read-only tho, so not sure if it covers the use case you described. If you can program a little (AI help?) find a simple fuse filesystem in a language you know, fiddle with it and call ffmpeg or similar on receiving files.

If you decide to expose your ‘desktop’, then you could also log in remote and just work with the files directly on ‘desktop’. This oc depends on usage pattern of the files.

Cheapest upgrade? Cram an old Android mobile in the USB port, and run a few services on that via Termux…

Image recognition, speech2txt, txt2speech, classification and such smaller models. They are fast but have no memory worth mentioning and are heavily dependent on data access speed. Afaik, transformer based models are hugely memory bound and may not be a good match if run on these externally via Usb3.
