Same here brother. That’s the way the drug is working on your brain. One drink makes you thirsty, until it is too late.
Also, nice coincidence with !stopdrinking@lemmy.world

It happened in Canada a few years ago. It happens in Europe every x summer (on a relative size).
So yeah, only place on the planet according to cnbckrjkgfdz or whatever your news channel is called.
That’s good to know, thanks.
But after my message this morning I decided to try out my xgimi projector in the living room instead of the bedroom.
It is perfect like that and I will give the tv (old LG 1080p). A bedroom is not a home cinema anyway, because you don’t want crumbs in the bed 🙄
Ah shit.
Thanks for the feedback, it is greatly appreciated as those things are expensive.
I guess we are fucked until the EU make a new pro-consumer law. But that would take years (if they ever make it).
Another possibility would be to use a projector (it is only for homelab NAS movies afterall). I have a xgimi in my bedroom and it is somewhat great once connected to the free AppleTV my ISP gave me. Otherwise the default google tv OS on it is pure shit.
Ah! I was reading that post yesterday https://lemmy.world/post/22309068 as I am looking for a 55’ 4K oled dumb display.
So far no joy.
Apparently some manufacturers makes internet mandatory at first boot and even if you block or disconnect it later it will nag you for firmware update every now and then.
The only possibility I have found for an EU customer at the moment is Sony Bravia. Yup Sony sucks but apparently Bravia’s let you choose to refuse the terms of service and not use the smart things, thus making them dumb tv.
But maybe I’m wrong, maybe it’s not the case anymore or maybe they will decide to change that.
That sucks, if any of you knows about a commercial display/computer monitor/dumb tv in oled 4K hdr 55’ available in Europe, I might fall a little bit in love with you.
I can feel it. Last time I was in Manhattan I hated it, why are buildings so huge that you can’t see the sky or feel the sun? I had to pay for fancy expensive rooftop bars to be able to breath a little.
But maybe I don’t get it cause I’m an Europoor.
Thanks for the shitty photo OP!
‘Nexus: The Jupiter Incident’ fit that description for me. I replayed it so many times trying new spaceships loadouts and strategies.
‘Kerbal Space Program’, do I need to say more ?
And lastly, ‘A Plague Tale Requiem’. It went as low as 2€ and that game broke me on a psychological level because of the story, characters and poetry. I was unable to leave it or think about anything else for months. It’s even worse if you play the first game before.
Edit: No, the last game that got me hooked for hundreds of hours is modded Cyberpunk 2077, but I don’t know if it can be found for 10 bucks.
Standard procedure is max FL100 or 10 000 ft.
But if you are flying over mountains (FL180 for the Alps highest safe flight level) you are fucked.
Well no, there are oxygen masks and the pilots will immediately put them on and then dive toward a safer altitude at a controlled but fast rate of descent (more eardrums bursts) as well as clearing the high terrain area ASAP.
Airbus Procedure is basically “Pull everything on the MCP !”:
And A320 should descent at around 7000ft per minute. At that rate you start to feel that the ground is getting perpendicular to you on the window. Could be more or less, it’s the pilot choice and how much he is willing to stress an airframe that just had an explosive decompression.
Rapid decompressions are very rare events tho. Except maybe on 737 max.
I just have my vault default location saved on a cloud drive. iCloud in my case as I have an IPhone but I guess it could be done with any cloud or owncloud if you have a server.
I used to use Git, but it is easier to just move the vault on a network/cloud drive as you don’t need to pull/push. As obsidian auto save when you type a character this makes the sync instantaneous with zero effort.
I made the switch from YNAB cause !fucksubscriptions@lemmy.world
I only had a small understanding problem at the beginning but then I quickly managed to replicate my YNAB (and import the data).
Now that I’m used to it I don’t see any problems and I like it. I believe you can try it locally without running the server version.
The lack of mobile app could be a downside but I don’t budget on my phone.
A simple homemade NAS, mostly for hosting my Plex library, VPN+torrent and cloud.
The synology needs to be emptied, removed and sold.
The m2 Mac mini was hosting some docker like pihole and actual budget but those are now on another Mac mini used as a workstation, so this one will be sold as well.
It is very good but depend on what you want to host.
I have a second hand cheapest M2 with Asahi Linux and some container (like pihole) but not much. I like that it is small, silent and energy efficient (and it can run Xplane12 in 4k !). But I have an homemade NAS so most of the multimedia stuff and containers are on here and not on the MacMini.
The M4 seems incredible, but Asahi Linux only support M1 and 2 at the moment (it might work with M4 tho).
The problem with the mini would be disk space if you are looking for a NAS usage, although I have seen here on lemmy a dude making a Mac Mini NAS (can’t find the post anymore).
But even without Asahi, an M4 with Mac OS, docker and a VM if needed would be plenty of power for price and energy. You can also upgrade to a 10Gbe NIC if your network supports it. Plug it to some screens and you have a workstation + docker server in one place.
lol, I only know the selecta ones but I’ll try the wurstaumat next time I’m in the german part of the ruesti.
Trust and respect are some of the core principles in Swiss education and society. There are those well known newspapers stands that always amaze tourists. They are not locked nor monitored but people still pay for the newspaper.
For the restaurants it can be true but most places will know what you had only because the cash register system works like that (like they take the order on a phone that automatically sends everything to the kitchen and till). It’s mostly because all the systems available on the market works like that.
But as everywhere, things are changing for the worse, there’s more and more violence, disrespect etc.
Fun fact, I once had French friends visiting and they saw a field where you can take fruits yourself, weight them and pay the according price. No human supervision, no cameras. They were amazed and told me “In France we wouldn’t pay for the fruits, steal the money box AND the weighting machine”
That is most likely the right answer.
I’m in Switzerland and we have vending machines (not as cool as the Japanese ones tho) because we walk past them everyday.
They are generally on the pavement near post offices, at train stations and other large public transportation places. For a time there was cigarettes vending machines near bars but I think those are now forbidden.
Thanks, here are some figures about our Jet d’Eau and a not so fun fact:
At 200km/h and 140m high, one day a dude tried to kiss it. He was denied any love, felt down near the base, tried to hug the Jet d’Eau (again yes…). Was sent into orbit and finished into the lake where police fished him up.
He did survive, but probably not his last brain cells.
That thing is powerful, when you stand below it you are soaked to the bones by fresh lake water in seconds. At this exact time (24 August 14h30 utc) you can see people pressing below it cause it is 32°C right now in Geneva)
I feel you. This ITX build is replacing a giant supermicro dual everything beast. I just kept its HDDs and moved everything to the Unraid ITX + some docker running on a M2 MacMini that is always on anyway.
I said to myself that I’ll resell the supermicro on auctions but still haven’t started to disassemble it.
Fun fact about divorce. A cute Jonsbo N3 with big Noctua fans is way more for peace and love at home than a 20Kg Supermicro chassis.
I hope so.
