I’m Autustic and don’t seem to have anger. “Frustrated” is similar, I got that one just fine, but anger doesn’t seem to come up. I don’t seem to have a bunch of them, though. So, I have definitely noticed the same thing. The internet is so full of anger, and it mostly just seems to serve to temporarily compromise the intellect of the person feeling it, so it makes them sound dumber at a time when they probably wish they were coming across as clever.
Dumber, but also more sure of themselves. There is a reason people usually come back half an hour later and apologize for what they did when they were angry. It does have its uses, but open communication can also preclude it. For people who don’t tend to communicate freely, anger can help them finally say something they haven’t been saying. And quite a few people seem to work that way. Finally saying the thing they haven’t been saying can lead to solutions for their problem.
But anger can also lead to some pretty dumb things, and that seems to be the more common result.
Hehe yeah, mine is white, so visibility is a little easier. But I have definitely had a few times with newer larger vehicles where they either didn’t look down, or couldn’t see me even if they did. Always gotta be on your toes when next to one of these vehicles more than 4x the size of mine, lol.
Edit: A quick little video of it if you are interested. From the day I brought it home.
It’s got a bit of aftermarket stuff, nothing too crazy. Though it did also come with NoS, I disconnected that. And it had street glow, I didn’t intentionally disconnect that, but I did go over the wrong speed bump for a car with only 2 inches of clearance… never really used it anyway as it’s not legal to turn on in public.
I am just a nerd, the poor car has never done over the speed limit for the last 13 years of it’s life. But I feel better knowing that the previous owner made sure it can safely take all these corners at twice the speed I ever would.
I drive an 89 supra, it was kind of a smaller car in it’s day, but certainly far from as small as it feels now. My head is below the “blind” on the newer style headlights that make sure they aren’t blinding drivers despite how crazy bright they are. It’s not alot of fun… but the car is… so I put up with it. I have night driving glasses that severely cut down on that type of glare. It helps, but isn’t magic.
Hmm, that puts me at BRI of 2.1, and BMI of 35.4
Those both seem incredibly off.
But I do have extra dense bones apparently, which tends to be mostly what screws with my BMI, and my ability to float/swim. But they seem really hard to break, not that I try very hard… but none of them have broken yet. And I’ve been in situations that seem like they should have broken.
Either way, I weigh alot more than I look like I should, not quite “Wolverine getting on a motorbike”, but a bit like that.
Kinda makes me wish those “guess your weight” carnival experts were something I could see in real life, only ever seen it on TV.
Dungeons and dragons, both the paper version and the digital stuff. I remember as a kid playing some random DnD games with no context and being upset that they were weird rpgs that only went up to level 8 or whatever. Without context, that is not common in videoganes. And not knowing how much more open the games could have been than just playing them “murder hobo” style…
I only ended up playing paper DnD at around the start of 5e, while I was tangentially aware of it since I think before third edition, I didn’t know I would actually like it back then. And it’s entirely possible I wouldn’t have. I have a processing delay, so whether or not I end up enjoying board games, or anything else involving players taking turns doing complicated thinking… largely depends on how patient the other players are.
I also wasn’t super creative back then… although maybe playing DnD would have helped. But at the very least, I wish I would have tried learning paper DnD back then even if I didn’t like it, so I had the context when I played the digital games. I would have very much appreciated those if I understood why certain limitations were in place.
I mean, could you imagine a DnD digital game trying to accurately represent the capabilities of level 20 characters… hitting level 20 in DnD basically forces your campaign into “jumping the shark”. Which omnipotent god are we one-shotting this week?
D2:R is such an interesting technical showpiece. I love that the new graphics are like an interpreted realtime overlay. That the regular game is running right behind all that. Such a cool thing to see. It would be awesome even if it wasn’t still fun to play, but it also is.
There is a bunch of different modern versions of Myst. It’s also got a VR version that is very good. Riven and Obduction are also available in VR. Not sure about some of the lesser known Myst games like exile, uru, or revelation.
In my experience, playing them when I was younger didn’t work out great, some of the puzzles were just way too hard for pre-teen me. But they were great to play now.
Yeah, they get alot of shit for how buggy they are, but they are trying to do a thousand things well. They probably have literal millions of bugs along the way, but only manage to solve the 999000 easiest, quickest, or most obvious ones before launch.
There is a reason they are still consistently best sellers.
Mario games have remained consistently fun, you just stopped being within the demographic.
Yeah, all the complicated flashlights with multiple settings I have used support turning on and off into the last used settings. I don’t think I’ve ever used a flashlight that forced you to cycle through everything. I had a bike light that did, but I got rid of it and replaced it with a flashlight mounted instead.
Yeah, that’s just one of the ways it has changed over time for some cultures, hehe. There were plenty of millenia before hell was even thought of the first time, we probably will never know what the first written use of it was, let alone the first time it was used in oral storytelling. But with what little evidence we do have from thousands of years ago, we can see that the idea of hell was never consistent since.
Religion is pretty hard to believe if it wasn’t the one you were raised into. And it’s often times pretty hard to get out of the one you were raised into.
But outside of religion, a pretty common fictional view is that heaven is the extreme end of order, and hell is the extreme end of chaos. Neither one can harbor any middle ground, and thus they would both suck to be stuck in.
Inside religion, whatever your religion’s version of heaven is, usually depends on what “your people(local and as a whole)” would want it to be. It changes over time and distance to better fit. But never bring up that it has changed, as it has always been this one and true correct way of depicting it, to question that is some kind of sin… and hell of course is similarly fluid despite having always been “this” way.
In truth, they have both been depicted every which way imaginable.
The thing about it is to remember that it’s generally one of 5 skits they have had to write and rehearse as much as possible in the course of 6 days at most.
SNL is more about having a good reason to workshop their skills than it is about how good the show is. But in the context of what they are actually accomplishing, it’s generally a pretty good live show. But of course, it will never be as funny on average as a pre-written and pre-recorded show that can be edited and fixed up.
Sort of the same thing as going to any live theater shows. They are not as good as recorded and edited stuff, but you have to appreciate the effort given the context. And adjust your expectations of the quality of the results. They might occasionally still make something that happens to compete favourably with other media, but it shouldn’t be expected.
Well, to be pedantic, friction is still the enemy there. But that just ruins the joke. Pedantry strikes again.
Yeah, I do alot of that too. I own like 500 games or so. Way too many to ever play them all. Though I have played through at least half, so not -that- bad. Hehe.
The Warcraft movie was actually really good, not sure why it did poorly in the States. Everywhere else in the world loved it.
While I agree that’s it’s nice to have the option of a physical copy, I own too many games to want a physical copy of all of them. And if they are ever “taken away” I will not hesitate to get them back. I don’t want to own physical copies of my games, but I do feel entitled to continue owning them even after the store I bought them from no longer exists. I will just download any game I have owned that I want to play again but no longer have access to the paid version. Kind of like how emulation works. I only use it to play games I own that I don’t want to play the physical copy of.
I hope they know it’s not because we didn’t want a borderlands movie. It could have been good, but they didn’t choose that path.
Yeah, but think about how cool the word velociraptor sounds… so really… they were probably right, and science is just gonna have to take the L on this one. Rename all the stuff so that retroactively jurassic park is right. Problem solved.
