  • As a long time C/C++ developer, I think it has a lot of really great ideas. The one thing preventing me from using it a lot more is that there is no stable ABI that would allow to use shared libraries in Rust - everything is statically linked, and if I use the same crates in a number of programs, the same code exists in each of these programs. That is not really a good thing whne you try to develop for a system with very limited space and where program load times make a difference, such as for certain embedded platforms.

    But honestly, Rust support in the Linux kernel? Java never got that far, nor any other language (apart from C, obviously).

  • Finally, prepare thoughtful questions to ask the interviewer. This demonstrates your curiosity and engagement. For example, you could ask about the team dynamics, opportunities for professional growth, or how success is measured in the role. Avoid asking about salary or benefits too early; save those discussions for later stages.

    So… waste my time to interview for a job with a salary that might be a joke? Riiiight. Pretend we’re not doing this for the money. Riiiiiiiiight.

  • The answer is: they do not give a shit.

    They do not care about the US as a country.

    They do not care about the Americans as a people.

    They do not care about the economy.

    They do not care about anything apart from their own personal interest. Lining their own pockets is all they care about. If someone helps them do that, they are friends with them. If they don’t, they do not matter.

    Congratulations, you now officially live in a cleptocracy where they shake you down, take all of your money and give it to the guys who already have billions. All the taxes they claim to save by obliterating social security, affordable care etc? They are not going back to you, they will stuff them in Musk’s pockets through bullshit contracts and other schemes.

    And at the same time, they are critically crippling the IRS to make sure the billionairs no longer even have to pretend to pay taxes.

  • Actually, you see, it is not the original bits, yeah? They get compressed, and that removes bits, and then they are uncompressed, and bits are added. Those are RE-CONS-TI-TUTED bits. It’s like reconstituted tomato juice, the taste of the original water is gone forever! And you can hear that. With music, I mean, not with the tomato juice. Like, who says it’s even the same kind of bits, the same quality? You can so hear the difference. You want a double blind study? Well that’s just silly, if it’s double blind, it means its not blind, because the two blinds cancel each others out. Basic science, duh!

  • STOP DOING C++

    • Templates were not supposed to make your error messages explode into unrecognizable gibberish
    • “Yes, please generate 5000 pages of garbage instead of an understandable error message!” - statements dreamed up by the utterly deranged

    Look at what compilers have been demanding your respect for all this time:

    ???

    They have played us for absolute fools.
