I think that about local news here whenever I happen to see it. Half of it is fear mongering, the other half is pointless shit that really has no bearing on anything. “Local” news is generally a joke, with few stations actually having journalists who want to actually do something productive.

OK, the only reason I would like this tech is that I could finally translate the symphony of music I hear in my head, mostly while laying down in bed for the night, that I could never actually play.

Unfortunate that’s the case, seems to be a severe lack of care and concern on the institutions end. Hopefully another would have the capacity to take it over at some point instead of losing everything thats been accomplished.

Well if they’re that upset about it, maybe they could help maintain it as well financially. Still sucks that it’s happening, these institutions usually have more than enough money to throw around for something they deem this significant.

Also, the fact that the reasoning behind this is because they don’t want the justices to be pressured by partisian issues is ironic considering…

Yea, most musicians are generally not that well off and have as much free time as you think. Most still work some sort of regular job to offset the cost of living and equipment because they won’t make the money they need to survive solely off of the money from gigs. They do it because they love it and not because they’re making tons of money and have ample free time. Their hobby is music, so whatever downtime they have from regular life, they fill it with playing and writing music. If you’re fortunate enough to be signed to a label, you’re on the road for months out of the year gigging and constantly immersed in your music, and that definitely isn’t a health benefit either. There is a thing down here called the Musicians Clinic - musicians don’t have a typical job and therefore don’t have access to medical insurance like they would if they worked a 9-5 with benefits, so it supplements that to keep them healthy.

Yea, honestly, in the overall picture of things I am too, because who knows what would have actually happened if things had been taken further with him there like you said. But just for this scenario where it went as far as it did - the court is now hung up on technicalities, it would be a different conversation if he had.

I really wish that he wasn’t stopped from attending it like he wanted too, this would be such an open and shut thing if otherwise. Now the courts are all hung up on if he participated or not. He obviously fucking caused it but you know, due process and all.
