If you’re on Android and use Firefox, you can use the Disable JavaScript extension to disable JS on sites with paywalls, like NYtimes. While not perfect, it works remarkably well.

Also works great on Desktop.

Wow. Any tech can make a mistake, but this is why you make backups beforehand. This was completely avoidable or at least reversible. And then to have such a douchy response, and even try to shift the blame? That just adds insult to injury.

It’ll be the final nail. Traffic to the site will plummet because the vast majority of users will not want to pay and search engines like Google will no longer be able to index links to tweets, which of course will drive away the remaining advertisers. This is another disastrous move in a relentless string of bad moves by big brain musk. I have to admit that it really starts to look like he’s doing this on purpose. Anyone with more than 2 brain cells should see this coming, even an idiot like musk.

In our hyper connected world with nest door bells, web cams and motion detectors everywhere the odds always were astronomically against this guy. I’m amazed he managed to stay on the lam for as long as he did, even more amazed he survived his capture.
