Actually, I am hoping RFK, Jr. gets him to try some raw bird flu milk.
No, no, one of the main benefits of OOP is information hiding. If your code is too greppable, developers can circumvent the information hiding.
(Sarcasm)
I got permabanned for saying I would like to see how Eisenhower would treat some Nazi marchers in Wisconsin. Apparently, that is not a commentary on how far the Republicans have shifted, but is actually advocating violence. I haven’t been supplying Reddit with free content since. Their loss, I had a pretty decent amount of karma, so I probably was contributing to the popularity of their site.
Because people don’t like jumping out of windows to their death.
There is a reason it is called a scrum.
The amount discovered in each of the last three years has been less than a year’s worth of consumption. The global consumption rate is still rising. At some point we will necessarily run out. The lack of readily available reserves has already lead to “innovations” like fracking, oil sands, and deep sea extraction. Those techniques weren’t profitable when production is easy, but they have delayed the inevitable.
I fully expect to see solar powered wells extracting oil that otherwise has a negative EROI in my lifetime.
University of Oklahoma?
I have done quite a bit of C, C++, Ada, and Pascal development. I recently got into Rust. I am still getting used to Rust, but it feels a bit like someone tried to apply Ada to C++. I like the modern development environment, but I am slower writing code than I would be in Ada or C++. The one feature of Ada that I really like and want other languages to adopt is the Rep spec. I write driver code and being able to easily and explicitly identify which symbol corresponds to which bit is really good.
Like blowing up a daycare because someone you tortured said Hamas was there? At least the Mossad is actually in the building.
Are you trolling? The seasonal variation in arctic glaciers is negligible.
Hey! That’s my IP address whenever the script kiddies are boasting in chat. How did he get it?
There are only two viable candidates in this election (I don’t like it or make the rules, but it is what it is). Both are pro-genocide. Therefore, genocide is not a factor in the decision tree.
“I don’t want them leaving the building … I don’t want them walking down the road for a cup of coffee." Dude… I would pay money for a cage match between this wanker and the Starbucks CEO (commuting by private jet wanker). Ideally, they’d mortally wound each other.
I literally make a new branch. clone, and use an external merge tool (beyond compare) when my branch has fallen too far behind. I don’t trust any of the automated processes.
We are the mailed fist of the Emperor!
Man, if we could only find a video of a dolphin doing a couch. Did I just rule 34 that into existence?
I was trying to say that tools were better about letting us know that another developer was modifying the same file as us, so we would collaborate in advance of creating the conflict.
I use git daily and still wonder why I had fewer merge issues on a larger team in the 1990s with command line rcs on Solaris. Maybe we were just more disciplined then. I know we were less likely to work on the same file concurrently. I feel like I spend more time fighting the tools than I ever used to. Some of that is because of the dumb decisions that were made on our project a decade or more ago.
Test only on dev hardware because production hardware is too expensive to waste on developers. No idea why the software runs better on dev hardware than production. They’re kind of similar.
