As someone who has avidly been reading manuals since the early 90s, car manuals have always been pretty good. Home audio/video equipment has also had great manuals over the years too. I don’t recall a time these turned to shit.

Motherboards / BIOS documentation comes in dead last, and has always been shit. Dozens and dozens of proprietary settings that are not described by the manual nor the built in help, and there’s only conjecture online. At least now the English is mostly correct, but they’re still very bad at describing what niche settings do.

I point my camera at the sun all the time, It’s not harming the sensor even without a shield. I don’t get it. You don’t have to be paranoid about having the sun in frame. Maybe with a telephoto lens, or a telescope, or if you’ve got a tripod set up and the sensor is exposed for a long time. Regular shots? Go ahead and take a picture of the sun or eclipse.

They’re attempting to massively increase the number of new students without also massively increasing the support required.

You can’t just bump intakes 40% without a plan.

You’re not supposed to drink the flocculated plastic particles. You still have to decant or filter the boiled water; this just makes it easier to remove the microplastics by increasing the particle size.

It is no longer in solution, it precipitated out. This could very well be used to reduce microplastics in water.

Seems like boiling hard water followed by filtration would do the trick. Decanting after letting the water sit for a while, to allow precipitates to fall to the bottom, could work also.

That’s not a deployment order, and I feel this has been taken out of context by people unfamiliar with the military. I can’t say with certainty what this is, but it could be guidance like “don’t wear your uniform in public if you’re in Israel”. It wouldn’t have no restrictions on releasing it if it were anything important.

To say this is evidence of mandatory deployment orders is ridiculous.

I disagree with your prognosis. The earth has been hit by massive meteors, or huge volcanoes erupted - plenty of species survived. Your ancestors, in fact. There’s radiotrophic fungus growing in the Chernobyl reactor. The earth will be fine, as will many of the lower species.

If what you had was effective, it wasn’t homeopathic. Homeopathy requires very large amounts of dilution, to the point there aren’t even two molecules of the active ingredient present in a dose.

No, I don’t think it’s appropriate. It is, however fucked up, still legal.

This is straight up incorrect. 17 is the age of consent in New York, and many other states are 16. A minority of states have 18 as the age of consent.

I agree it’s fucked up for an adult and a teen to be together, but this is a law we’re talking about.

What you get is both downsides rather than both advantages. It can’t fly fast enough for fixed wing, nor can it fly slow enough for rotary, meaning it can’t effectively be escorted. It doesn’t have the range or speed of fixed wing, nor can’t it hover as well as a helicopter. It requires special logistical channels. It’s finicky to fly and high maintenance. Because the rotors are so heavily loaded it creates significant rotor wash and it’s especially susceptible to vortex ring state. It can’t glide like fixed wing and can’t autorotate like rotary for a power loss in flight.

It’s garbage. The idea of using these for rescue or VIP transport is laughable.

Yes, but slower and less range than fixed wing. Likewise, it can’t do rotary wing things as good as a helicopter. It’s truly a “master of none” aircraft. It’s not great at anything.

Putting it in a rescue role is a terrible idea. You do not want a finicky to fly, unreliable aircraft in that scenario.

Well, they’re not fast (prop too big) nor are they particularly great at hovering (rotor too small).

It’s the worst of both worlds.
