Sweden is not like Finland where NATO has had an 80% support since Russia started their war against Ukraine. For understandable reasons – mainland swedes have pretty much never been at risk from Russia whereas Finland has no risks except Russia.

But I think still a good 60% support NATO, right?

If someone is confused: NPD are actual unashamed nazis. Nobody likes them in Germany.

AfD are populist alt-right creeps, but they are enjoying a >20% support in Germany. I find it unlikely that their funding will be affected.

But … they cannot just withdraw that money after they gave it to charity, right? The money isn’t theirs anymore.

Why is there no kind of information on how many Hamas operatives have been killed in this war? Is this because there’s no way to tell them from civilians? Does Hamas itself even know?

Why would Belarus, a Russian vassal, co-operate with NATO? This doesn’t make any sense. Are they claiming an actual change in politics and an attempt to get away from Russian influence?

I think the calculation is pretty mathematical here. It just makes incredibly good geopolitical sense to have Israel in there, sapping the strength of all its neighbors.

It has been an incredibly successful strategic move. For the last 80 years, Near East has been directing their power struggles mostly inwards instead of towards Europe – like they often did before WW1. Given how Russia is being offensive against Europe, this would be a horrible time for Europe if Israel would fall.

Personally, I want war more than I want to be subjugated by Russia. This is currently a very realistic threat for me, probably surpassing almost every other non-medical threat.

IDF is fighting against an entity who denies the existence of Israel. Hamas could take the first step towards peace and accept Israel.

What do you think Israel should do to Gaza in the current situation where the ruling party of Gaza does not recognize the legitimacy of Israel’s existence? I mean Israel has been doing what it has been doing in Gaza for a pretty damned good reason, and if Hamas (the ruling party of Gaza) would unlodge their heads from their behinds, things could actually improve.

What you describe is an active attempt to protect innocent lives from a violent operation. It’s the opposite of punishment.

I don’t claim to know, but clearly it has worked a couple of times in recent history. WW2 ended with Germany, Italy and Japan being totally defeated and conquered by Allied forces. And they mostly left in just a few years. I’m guessing what it takes is that the population needs to understand they lost.
