The leaked internal DNC poll is what I’m referencing here. Why would the poll conducted under the direct supervision of the DNC for their own personal use be exaggerating Biden’s weakness?

He’s polling worse than “generic Democrat” and he can barely form a coherent sentence. Fundamentally, I just don’t believe there is a person who would vote for Biden, but not Harris or Whittmer or whoever, but there’s lots of people who lack confidence in Biden and would be more likely to vote if someone else was nominated.
I think the most realistic way of undoing this ruling is for Biden to step down and Harris or someone else to take over. They would very likely win, and if the turnout is strong enough, they could use a legislative majority to either pack the courts or impeach/replace a few Republican Justices. The now majority liberal court could contrive some excuse to make a new ruling on presidential immunity and overturn the previous one.
It requires a lot of things to go fairly well and for the Democrats to be more organized and competent than they’ve ever been, but it is Possible, unlike a constitutional amendment imo.
Damn, trumpoids made it to lemmy? How? Shouldn’t you be spending time with your grandchildren or getting your brain melted by AI slop on facebook or something 💀
That depends on your use case, I just did a simple zpool with no redundancy because I wanted maximum speed/capacity and all my data is backed up on an external HDD. If you need redundancy, I would look online for how to configure that and what the optimal setup is.
Actually, I assumed you just had the SSD, if you have more than 256gb of free space between those HDDs, you can go ahead and remove the SSD from your zpool right now (unless your bootloader is there, then you’ll have to make an EFI system partition on one of the HDDs and install a bootloader first)
You realize that there are two possible outcomes. Biden wins, and the Palestinian Genocide gets worse or Trump wins and the Palestinian Genocide gets much worse. You’re voting for it either way, including by refusing to vote at all.
You need to add the new drive to your existing pool because ZFS stores data across all drives by default, similar to a RAID0. Then you remove the old drive and ZFS will automatically copy the data off the failing drive onto the healthy one and allow you to remove the failing drive with no data loss.
Damn, the MAGA crowd made its way onto Lemmy? Surprised they could even figure out how to sign up💀

People make new distros based on existing distros to alter the software stack in the original distro. Gentoo allows you to use essentially whatever software stack you feel like, it’s less of a traditional distro and more of a general-purpose Linux package manager and dependency resolver. It’s not very opinionated at all.
Ah fair, I didn’t actually read the article, I just assumed it was semi-recent lol. Probably should have read it first
Use an Ubuntu live USB, all recent versions of Ubuntu have ZFS drivers baked into the live environment. Then you should add your new SSD to the ZFS pool, and remove the old one from the ZFS pool. Your m.2 WiFi slot should be able to host the 2nd drive while you do this, but if not you can use an external USB housing for it, you’ll just have to make sure that the ZFS pool knows its UUID so that it knows it’s the same drive.
Do they not still test the blood for HIV regardless of how “high risk” the donor is? You should be tested immediately prior to donation and the donation rejected if you test positive, this is a fuck-up on whoever took the blood. Also, prisoners??? Why in the fuck are we paying prisoners for their blood? Every private prison company should be nationalized and have its leaders tried for their crimes istg.
I get your point, but the consequences of this particular attack are almost certainly going to include a land invasion of Gaza, which will result in even more aggressive ethnic cleansing/genocide of the Palestinian people. But Israel has such disproportionate power in this situation that the only realistic way to halt the genocide is if Isreal decides to do it on its own, and that won’t happen without significant international pressure (particularly from the US).
It would be far easier to win international support for the Palestinian cause if it was lead by progressive, democratic groups instead of a religious fundamentalist organization known for engaging in disproportionate violence against civilians (not even 2% of the level of violence Isreal has enacted to Palestine, but still).
The solution would be to end the occupation of Gaza and the West Bank, and granting all Palestinians within those territories full citizenship, voting rights, and economic reparations for the hardship they suffered at the hands of the Israeli state.
Then you wouldn’t have the desperate poverty and crowded ghettos that make people desperate enough to join Hamas to begin with.
The alternative would be a secular, progressive, democratic resistance to the occupation, it’s a lot easier to win international support if you’re not a bunch insane religious fundamentalists (Hamas, not the Palestinian people broadly). I agree with your sentiment 100%, I just don’t think Hamas is an organization that’s capable of freeing Palestine from Israeli occupation.
Especially since Netanyahu’s government literally sent them money because a relatively strong Hamas makes it easier for him to justify the ongoing genocide/ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.
It’s possible to oppose Hamas and the Israeli government at the same time. Hamas being fundamentalist terrorists doesn’t retroactively justify the Israeli government forcing millions of people into ghettos without access to clean water and regularly subjecting them to state violence. Or the ongoing settlement program, where Palestinian towns are forcibly evacuated and their property/homes stolen and given to Israeli settlers.
Two things can Both be bad at once, especially since the only reason Hamas exists is because of the desperation of Palestinians caused by Israeli state policy. Netanyahu’s government even gave them money at one point, because Hamas is good for his political goals. Hamas prevents a more democratic, progressive resistance to the occupation from forming, which makes it easier for Netanyahu’s government to justify their ongoing genocide/ethnic cleansing.
