found 2 problems

1. i wish to add instances that are not indexed in this db, not possible apparently.

   I can see that it depends on this API url: https://lemmy.raicuparta.com/communities.json

   maybe add a customizable api url so that I can set up my own where I clone this api url result & add my own communities?

2. whenever i set any instance as “preferred” (testing), it adds a new counter to Blocked Instances as can be seen in the image below.

yeah scripting requires learning a tiny bit about it. later on, not now because i don’t know if it’s possible to make the script i talked about, but later on you can help build or find cool playlists that we can iterate through to fill a few of the empty subs. I’d basically run an automation on my server that would post every X hours or days to keep them not-dead.

I may also make a Spotify-playlist-to-youtube-link-list tool to add content to a few of the dead subs, idk if that’s good but seems better than empty lol. I wanna make a bot to make it easier to post and keep track of stuff too. Honestly I just fucking love that Lemmy is open source and has a working API unlike Reddit. Got so many ideas and so little time available rn so I’ll take a while to come up with cool shit. Would you be interested in one of these scripts? You can also make requests and I’ll see what I can do that’s within my means.

this one prolly, i will make a few comms for my fav bands later on and add them to the sidebar. I’ll try and keep up with the metal scene on lemmy and try and bring em here.

well if u want some help modding shit u can just add me to anything, i have too much time on my hands and spend an ungodly amount of hours browsing lemmy everyday. i don’t promise to do anything other than deleting spam and fixing broken stuff tho
