After watching 12tone’s analysis of this solo it gave me an all new appreciation for this cover and Prince. Don’t get me wrong, before I thought Prince was top 10 now I’d consider his in contention for number 1.

Same. Plus it had one of the best lines ever in a superhero movie
I’ve known you my whole life! I’ve seen you naked! You don’t think I would recognize you because I can’t see your cheekbones?
There is a version of Macbeth from 1979 with Ian McKellen and Judy Dench. It’s not really a movie but a recording from the Royal Shakespeare Company. It uses minimal sets and just the actors standing in a circle. My wife is a huge Shakespeare fan, but I had no real interest in watching it outside of making her happy. But it was amazing. The acting was absolutely incredible. I’ve never seen anything else like it.
I think this is a fake quote that somebody made up for an Internet comedy bit
You can tell by the pixels
As someone who was a teen in the 90s and loved the original, this has zero appeal to me. Maybe it’s the trailer but it looks like an edgy crime drama à la The Batman.
It looks like it lost the human interest side to it. Some of the best parts of the original were Eric’s interactions with Sarah or Sergeant Albrecht. That stuff might be in there but the trailer certainly doesn’t make it seem like it.
I recently rewatched the Blues Brothers for probably the 100th time in my life. Normally I can’t rewatch movies very often, but that does not apply to this movie.
I love movies like Airplane and any Mel Brooks film and will always laugh my ass off watching those types of films. But the Blues Brothers just makes me happy when I watch it. The only other movie that comes close to giving me the same feelings is The Sandlot.
I never understood the hate this album received. It is by far my favorite of theirs.
Super Mario Party - it has a ton of mini games and is designed for multiplayers in the same room.
Based on how much I listen to them on an on going basis, my top ones would be:
Punk/Hardcore that could be considered metal
That’s basically every Darren Aronofsky movie.
I’ve played around with a few of them. I’ve found LM Studio the most robust and user friendly.
I’m an American who lived in England for a couple of years. Due to American media the majority of everyone understood what I meant when I said things like soccer, trunk or hood of a car, fries, etc. Words with different meanings between the two could get confusing like biscuit, chips, or pissed.
Since soccer doesn’t have another meaning I never ran into someone who didn’t know what I was talking about. However, when saying football in an American accent some thought I was referring to American Football by default.
I can only remember one instant where someone did not know what I was talking about. That was when I asked someone at work where the dumpster was and I got a blank stare. I explained, the big metal thing outside for trash and they were like, “oh the skip”

Problem solved
That’s why I have multiple accounts on platforms. One for professional stuff and one for personal.
When used as a noun a fart refers to “an expulsion of intestinal gas1” or “An emission of wind from the anus; an instance of breaking wind2”. So, I would say no it is not because it is defined as leaving the body. While in the body it is flatus which is gas in or from the stomach or intestines.
2 OED
This guy sounds like a text book narcissist. The worst thing you can do is tell a narcissist they are a narcissist. It will do nothing and will only make them double down. The best thing you can do is cut them out of your life.
I had a similar situation when I was in my 20s. Friend I had that I’ve known since highschool would always make remarks about how I got so lucky with my job. Because I was making decent money (more than him) without a degree and he was an engineer. It didn’t matter that I worked my ass off and put in thousands of hours, I was lucky.
If I would ever push back or say something he would just double down. I couldn’t bring up the fact that I didn’t have parents that paid for everything while I was in school, so I had to work and go to college at the same time. I finally realized that was just the way he was going to be, so I limited contact with him. However, his comments never went as far as what you are describing. So, I think you’re doing the right thing by just blocking him.
I highly recommend reading the book Emotional Vampires. It teaches you about the different personality types you’ll run into in the working world and how to deal with each type (when you can’t just avoid them). I wish I had read it 20 years ago.
I get Japanese being its own little chunk due to their isolationist views for so long. But Turkish is surprising given how they were basically the gateway between Europe and Asia for so long.
I’ve worked in corporate America long enough to know this is exactly what happens. Companies will look at departments by revenue and just consider everything else expenses. They don’t consider that people won’t buy your hardware without good software support.
I stopped by HP long before their hardware went to shit because their drivers went to complete crap. I know I’m not alone on this. So what did HP do when their sales went down? Did they reinvest in good drivers and firmware? Nope, they just loaded their drivers with adware and made things even worse. When they didn’t work they started using cheaper parts in their printers. The LaserJet printers dominated the corporate landscape 20 years ago. Then they all got slowly replaced by Brother because Brother invested in good drivers and firmware.
