I’m assuming he means backend frameworks, like Ruby on Rails, Codeigniter, CakePHP, etc. That fits the timeframe, I think?

Yeah, it’s why we always said you shouldn’t ever give government these kinds of surveillance powers. The oversight was already lacking as it was, and now you’ve got an actual fascist in charge. And you didn’t do jack shit to reign it in at all after the first Trump presidency. This is why people hate the Democrats.
Maybe all the joke names in the franchise were actually real names after all.
That share button on porn sites never made sense to me.
It’s pretty shitty as far as manifestos go.
Cuba’s right there, they can go over and take a chance.
On Reddit I got banned from subs I’d never posted in for participating in other subs. The content of my posts didn’t even matter.
It’s definitely being logged by your Telco and phone manufacturer. Police can send them warrants to ask which phones were in X area around Y time frame and go from there.
I mean, if they can somehow come up with something better than activitypub, that would be great, from what I read it’s actually not that efficient. But yeah, decentralisation is not something you can just tack on, so I’m sceptical too, especially since they’re trying to raise VC money, which is not something you do when you want to build an open protocol.
It’s been clear from Gen X onwards that we’ll have a worse life than our parents, of course you’ll get anxious about it. You can probably plot this on the same chart that shows the rise of income inequality.
That’s somehow worse than Mastodon’s toots.
Bluesky is supposedly working on decentralisation, but yeah, I agree, especially since Mastodon is already there. Normies are just somehow very turned off by too much Linux talk, even though free software is part of the answer to keeping our society free and stopping monopolies from forming.
Took me way too long to realise OP meant the comment in the screenshot, not that there’s anything objectionable about the actual book.
Yeah, if there was anything to it they’d have their lawyers all over this. The result more or less matches the polling, and except for a few small incidents here and there, there were no issues.
That means Democrats will finally stop chasing rich donors for money and just run on reigning in corruption and corporate power, right?
Countries have different immigration streams, and skilled people that have matching language skills are put way in front of refugees in every country. Countries like Australia and New Zealand will be jumping at the chance to get scientists and health care professionals from the US. They’re already picking off everyone they can find in the UK.
They have 6 justices that are happy to interpret the constitution in any way Republicans like already.
Allow them to work and they can fund their stay anywhere. Anyway, like like all that’s moot now, Trump is going to be going with the government accommodation model.
He’s planning to fire a ton of government employees unless they bend the knee, and if he starts messing with universities a bunch of scientists would be pressured to say the ‘right’ things as well. If that happens, those people would leave. Plus, in those other countries, health care isn’t tied to your employment.
You probably don’t want to stay in one place. The US would quickly lob a missile to wherever you are. $80m probably wouldn’t make up for being on the run for the rest of your life in a country that will probably be turned into a war zone.
