I mean, does writing in Python rather than C free up your mind? It’s just another abstraction tradeoff.

Nah, Sulfur compounds can lower albedo. That’s actually quite possibly what happened here and why we have sudden outlier acceleration.
He’s talking about Andres Freund, who uncovered the OpenSSL backdoor that was slipped into liblzma from the xz malicious maintainer. Dude saw a valgrind error and a function with a fixed runtime was taking too long and using too much CPU and reversed out and saved a major ssh backdoor from going upstream as Fedora was going to release it just days later.
I actually disagree from a systems engineer perspective: The program doesn’t actually know shit if those bits hit any permanent medium, just that the OS told them “I’ll take care of it” it could be sitting in a write back cache when you save, see the “write complete” and rip the power and that’s all gone now. Basically, I don’t like promising durability when it’s not really there.
No, the unemployment rate was not 75%.
The disparity between Gaza and the West Bank is also reflected in unemployment rates, which over the period 2007-22 have been persistently higher in Gaza at an average of 39 percent, compared to 17 percent in the West Bank. This even as labor force participation rates have remained below 50 percent since the mid-1990s in both Gaza and the West Bank. The situation is particularly pronounced for youth and females in Gaza, where over two-thirds are unemployed, compared to less than a quarter in the West Bank.

The atrocious unemployment is partially because women are essentially excluded from the labor market.
Delayed vaccination was an anti vax talking point awhile back: Somehow parents were convinced by morons on the internet that you had to space vaccines out more. Basically once you start questioning the actual science, the more susceptible you are to just never actually finish the vaccine series, so antivaxxers win.

Intentionally delayed vaccine doses are not uncommon. Children whose parents delay vaccinations may be at increased risk of not receiving all recommended vaccine doses by 19 months of age and are more vulnerable to vaccine-preventable diseases. Providers should consider strategies such as educational materials that address parents’ vaccine safety and efficacy concerns to encourage timely vaccination.
Israel created conditions where boys can’t expect to live long enough?
That’s an insane take on Hamas preventing women from gainful employment or education and turning them into baby factories. The reason there’s so many children is because the population literally doubled in 24 years, and you only get population growth stats like those when you have uneducated women who can only have children and do no other function in society.
Mangey upright walking black bears? There’s Pedals in New Jersey that seems to be thriving in some context.
It’s not my town, I just know of the ice climbing festival.
It’s Ouray. Tiny tiny town.
The real issue is there’s a “major” festival there right now so it could be embarrassing on an international scale for the tiny town.
Ah, the nightmares of writing F5 iRules.
The actual research that you’re giving Taiwan credit for is US research. There’s a reason the US was able to tell the Dutch government “You can’t allow this hardware to go to China.”
The basic research for the Extreme Ultraviolet lithography was done at US DOE labs as a hedge against Japan dominating the world semiconductor supply. The US allowed a few companies in as part of the EUV-LLC private-public partnership, and ASML ended up buying out the other players who had the licenses from the US. The EU certainly had a hand in the research after the test bed was built proving it could work. https://www.sandia.gov/media/ultra.htm
I’d like to point out that ISIL took responsibility.
That’s not true. In fact, exposure to disease is more likely to cause lasting harm than non-exposure. Get a vaccine, not sick.

Phenylphedrine wasn’t recently released, it was just not well studied to be a nasal decongestant because Sudafed was a drug with a novel of evidence that it worked. It was just thought to be the next best thing after the OTC ban because it worked on a a similar mechanism and there was some (old as shit) studies that suggested it may work. No one was running further studies as Pseudoephedrine was just seen as the better drug.
One is an act of terrorism, one is a strike on a military target. That’s like comparing apples and war crimes.
The XBB.1.5 vaccine will cover JN.1, it’s just not a perfect match. This isn’t like XBB and the BA.5 vaccine.
Only if Russia and Iran agree and do it simultaneously.
Yea, there’s no where near enough RAM in that system. Add RAM and I’d bet everything fixes itself for a bit.
Yea. They were basically burning the tar like leftovers from fuel distillation and there was a lot of heavy tankers moving from East Asia to the US.
