Have you heard of verso, it’s web browser being built on top of servo, which also aims to help servo to be more “embedable”.

rtorrent, you just need an ssh connection if wanting to know remotely what’s going on

FLOSS used to include the ability to build software. Perhaps that’s not important anymore but now a days some developers don’t attend problems with their build recipes because they only consider what they release through binaries, whether on flatpak or whatever other binary repository they like. At least I dislike that, it’s ok to me some or most users would prefer to grab a bloated binary rather than building anything, but that doesn’t mean forgetting about those actually wanting to build from source, or wanting to use shared libraries and software from their distros, actually that’s a requirement for free/libre software repositories. Not sure if the tendency is to move the gnu+linux users into app stores like the ones on windows, now ubuntu snaps, android play store and the like. Sure there’s more security with sandboxing, but nothing one can’t get with firejail, and if wanting MAC as well then firejail + apparmor for example.

At any rate, just my little rant. And if you’re wondering, I use AUR on Artix, and I really hope I won’t have a need for a flatpak stuff.

Have you tried enabling webgl, which by default is disable on Librewolf? You can do that by overwriting the corresponding setting, as it can be done for any Librewolf setting, in particular the webgl override needed is:

defaultPref("webgl.disabled", false);

If you do, Librewolf recommend using the extension “CanvasBlocker” given the fingerprinting allowed by webgl. There’s a settings doc BTW…

wow, I had no clue ! That might have been it. It’s weird, but they actually get something eventually, but very dated… I hope this works, I have already selected a couple of languages besides undetermined, which seems to be a must as well.

Ohh, good to know about multi language. I guess that would restrict what I read to only the languages I select (be more restrictive), whereas “undetermined” should allow me to see everything, or so I understood. BTW, I’m not blocking anything, since I haven’t found the need to do so, with that, I’d guess the more one blocks, the more restrictive one becomes, but that’s not my case. That’s why a was a bit surprised that my settings could be the cause for me to see less up to date stuff, :( In my mind, my settings are the least restrictive possible.

I imagined if I had specified a language that would limit thinks, as warned by the setting itself, but I haven’t. BTW, we’re missing having the option to add as many languages as one might understand, that would make the field more useful. Limiting to just one language might make people never use it at all, :) But I can’t think of any of these settings preventing me seeing up to date federated communities…

In my mind, and it might be only in my mind, what lemmy.ml shows is pretty out of date. And I’ve noticed this not only on community contents, also when people from other instances comment on something I post or comment myself. Most of the time, I can’t see their post on the original post, and I might need to see the context, since I might have forgotten what the reply or what I get in my inbox is talking about, so context might be important. So that and the communities contents make me think, perhaps just me, that there’s something going on with syncing or federating. But perhaps I just got it all wrong.

What I post from lemmy.ml wouldn’t be seen there if that were the case, but it’s seen there, so that doesn’t seem the case…

BTW. I’ve already joined… That said, I see the same posts missing. Of course that doesn’t apply to one I made myself from lemmy.ml. There’s also a bot one from 9 days ago, but the rest are at least 1 month old…

Pff, I just got logged out on a refresh, hehe. So what I said is not true, I’m getting logged out, somehow randomly (can’t say I know under which conditions that happens). Not sure if there was a release candidate upgrade, since I can’t remember the version before this new logout. Currently:

Nope, I only have a lemmy.ml account, and I only use librewolf on the desktop…

I had that issue of having to re-login, and then every now and then when I do reload, it posts not on my subscribed communities as if I were not logged in, although I’m logged in, but on a subsequent reload, then only my subscribed communities posts show up. I haven’t had to re-login again, just after the upgrade, and then the other minor annoyance is that, but a subsequent reload is enough…
