I think there’s a marketing slide from AMD saying they’re renaming their GPUs to better match competition. So 9070 series cards are supposed to match 5070 series cards, that’ll be 5070, 5070 Ti as of now and super later on.

Stalker 2 had bugs on launch yet it easily sold 1 million copies. Black Myth Wukong uses frame gen to achieve 60 fps on PS5 and otherwise it locks to 45 fps, yet it has broken all records. Elden Ring is still a stuttery mess on PC and barely hits 60 fps on consoles, even the $700 one, yet it’s beloved.
These people aren’t the ones talking about resolutions and frame rates on X, but just playing the damn game in millions.
Just like millions use sub par TV settings and stream music or don’t have much clue about team sports but still have a great time.
I feel it’s a bit like any hobby. You’d see casual film enjoyers and then those who refuse to watch unless it’s a bluray on their 4k Dolby Vision TV with 1000 nits OLED brightness. There are some who just enjoy listening to music on their airpod knockoffs by streaming on YouTube music and then there are those who buy $500 headphones with high quality gold plated aux wire and a custom DAC and use some obscure format to really enjoy music. There are some who enjoy team sports and then there are those who know personal routine of each player and the wetness of the grass or the year of the ball’s manufacturing and its impact on throw.
It’s a spectrum.
Thanks again for sharing this. I’ll try to read more about this.
Of course I know how close it is, I was there. But the drills weren’t casual drills obviously, they were in response to National Day celebration. It actually made us nervous about our trip.
A side note: I’m happy to learn more and understand different perspectives, however what’s with ad hominem attacks of vibes, propaganda and all? You can share your thoughts without making it sound like a keyboard war.
Why are you again explaining Asian politics using American history to a non American? Who’s even talking about America here?
I’m aware about the civil war, and I’m aware that since then Taiwan has been able to govern itself differently. In my visit I could clearly see it myself.
None of this makes it a part of PRC. American civil war is different in the sense that the Southern dream ended and they couldn’t organise themselves elsewhere.
China literally threatened Taiwan just before my visit with their vessels. Are you sure they are peaceful with protests?

Don’t you remember how several celebrities had to apologise after they supported Taiwan.

If status quo means they are independent which they very much appear to me, then isn’t that overwhelming majority support for letting it be the way it is, i.e. not ruled by PRC? If it is ruled by it, then why did PRC bring their vessels to threaten its own people just a month ago?
Lol the graph clearly shows lack in interest in unification, even “unification as soon as possible” dropped. Isn’t that enough sign that Taiwanese don’t want unification as of now?
Thanks for sharing this. I’ve been there for 2 weeks and have spoken to people and they consider themselves as independent. There’s a lot of flags regarding independence around Taipei 101. Maybe they’re are all delusional, maybe they were lying to me? Whatever it is, I tend to support the small guy who is being bullied by the big one.
Keep your western politics on your side of the planet. Idk what’s with you all assuming everyone is an American
Why do you assume I’m from the west? I’ve actually been to Taiwan and it’s amazing. If you visit Taipei 101 you’ll regularly see people with flags for independence. If it truly was China, they’ll be jailed by now, but that doesn’t happen.
I try to be but I can’t ever compete with that who like to suck boots of bullies.
Taiwan is an amazing independent country with its own culture and currency.
I wouldn’t call a game where you build weird vehicles and weapons using things around you, or solve puzzles any possible way a walking simulator.
My point isn’t that, but how unanimous BG3 was. If you look at other years, there were still some juries that prefer one over the other, but not with BG3.
Pretty crazy that BG3 unanimously won despite the existence of ToTK.
The thumbnail cleverly hides the disputed parts of northern subcontinent
Everything that Sony claimed turned out to be true. Games are now exclusive to Xbox, they run worse on PS5, Xbox would get exclusive Call of Duty content and early betas and Xbox is using its market dominance by putting all ABK titles on GamePass.
Oh wait.
Hmm. Would look for some documentaries on the same then.
Where will “I’ll attack them coz they attacked me coz I attacked them coz they attacked me…” finally lead to? Anything can be justified based on when you start looking at the history, and each new attack only fuels the next.
Doom 2016 and Alan Wake 2. Enjoying both of them!
