Also I don’t think you’re the only one. Often when I come across a clump like that, most of them are sitting at only a few upvotes while other posts in the community do much better.
That seems like an optional feature that competing products have.
I’d rather the fediverse friendly open source version have features I won’t use, if it means it can continue to grow and compete with the proprietary ones

Yes, the first one is arguably a service, but the second one is a problem
Tesla employees passed around videos taken in car owners’ private garages and other interesting recordings captured by the cameras built in to the company’s vehicles, Reuters reported today. “We could see them doing laundry and really intimate things. We could see their kids,” according to one of nine former employees who told the news agency about the practice.
I found the screenshot order confusing at first, and it’s not OPs fault since the original article got the screenshots backwards too

I’ve noticed this with news communities on here.
The discussion is often more nuanced and level-headed. Something that used to be the case on Reddit years ago, but now if I find the same news article linked there the comment section isn’t as helpful
In general, advice on tech related things is much better
Reasons may include

- there is less content overall
- your question isn’t competing with as much engagement-bait

2·2 months agoSounds similar to the case with Jellyfin & Findroid (and likely Swiftfin)
The official Jellyfin app has full functionality, but it feels clunky. Especially for casual users.
The native third party app is smooth, intuitive, and visually nice, but is missing a few features (ex. Admin dashboard).
What I’ve seen recommended was:
- Findroid (and likely Swiftfin) for daily use
- Keep the official Jellyfin app installed for when it is needed
