How do gum bases not made of plastic give off plastic? Chicle and other natural gum bases come from plants.
Sounds like cellophane.
Theaters aren’t going to make a comeback unless they can legally stop the studios from owning streaming channels. There’s no interest in keeping content in the theater when the studio makes better money quickly shipping it to their own networks.
Not blaming the actor for taking the role. I’m blaming the marketing department for relying on the same “bankable” faces over and over.
My point was that even if Seyfried’s marvel movie had flopped:
I’m sure the actors in “The Eternals” will find other roles. And I wouldn’t be surprised to see some of them show up in another franchise like Star Wars, Star Trek, DC, or another Marvel movie. Remember when Ryan Reynolds was Green Lantern? Now he’s Deadpool.
I can see success being an influence in marketability. But most actors move from flop to flop without hurting their career. (As long as they aren’t the reason that the film flopped because they gave a lousy performance.)
There are plenty of actors who have played multiple franchise roles. If one role flops, you just move into the next.
Honestly it’s one of my pet peeves. Sure, Pedro Pascal is a fun actor, but does he have to show up in every franchise? Same with Benedict Cumberbatch. When the same actor plays multiple “super heroes” it can take you out of the story.
As an actor, why do you care if the film flops? You have a job to do, you do it, and you get paid. If you do it well, it rarely hurts your career if the movie flops.
Now if she was being paid by getting a percentage of the film’s box office, that would be a different story.
Because this is all Disney knows how to do anymore. Take something previously successful and make prequel after remake after sequel. Most of these used to be “direct to video”.
OMG. I tried to watch this one. I tried. The trailer looked like campy fun. But sometimes bad isn’t “so bad it’s good” it’s just baaaaad. 😆
lol. Apple is known for making good tv shows and bad movies. Good luck with that “boost”.
Some of the TV shows have been more creative. The current movies are just rehashes though.
Did anyone bother to tell Timothy that Amazon paid $1 billion for it? That can be awfully persuasive.
Isn’t that what they said about the lord of the rings franchise? And Wheel of Time?
Never under estimate the power of Bezos to enshitify.
Mission Impossible will probably do well because it’s the last one. The other two might do well if the “word of mouth “ is good.
If you really want to save the Box Office, forbid studios from owning streaming channels. They make more money rushing movies out of theaters to broadcast them on something they own.
Brutalist architecture follows function through form about as well as modern big box warehouses. Slather a bunch of concrete or other rock together, make sure it’s dimly lit with recessed or tiny windows, then make sure none of these windows open to let in fresh air.
Remember how prior to 1970 you had these cool grocery stores with curved rooflines and all glass fronts? Now you have square boxes with flat rooflines that leak, stained drop ceilings, and garish fluorescent lighting. Same concept.
In typical brutalist fashion, there appears to be very little natural lighting on the upper floors.
Dude must be built like a lumberjack! 🥁💥
Follow up: WiiU retail price
Original Switch:
Honestly, I think anything over $325 is too expensive for this. It’s just an iteration of the previous model. It will be interesting to see what happens after the early adopters grab the initial shipments (how much will price go down, will sales drop precipitously if price does not go down enough?).

(Also, how depressing is it that the price of things has doubled in just 20 years?)
