Interested here as well, especially because the movie doesn’t cover the Japanese perspective at all. Like 0 percent.

i know a few people who have moved abroad. The folks that went to Thailand seem super happy, enough so that my partner and I are considering it. We just did a scoping trip for a couple months and the city of Chiang Mai is super nice. As someone who lives in a bigger US city I found things in general were more relaxed and peaceful in Chiang Mai. Convenience stores look well taken care of, people don’t seem angry everywhere you go, the food was amazing… honestly it seemed like a better life in general. Though admittedly i was only there for a short time.

It’s actually 23.976 and yes it’s because of NTSC frame rates. But increasingly things are shot now at a flat 24p since we’re not as tied down to the NTSC framerate these days.
DSLRs just don’t have the types of lenses and a ton of electronics and features that are in broadcast cameras. Broadcast cameras have things like 3-CCD sensors, built-in variable ND filters, reference/sync inputs, multiple video outputs (clean, pix) over SDI or SMPTE 2110 or connectivity to a CCU (camera control unit). They’ll often support intercoms and return video for the camera operator or for teleprompting. Source: am broadcast engineer.
In case this isn’t a joke… maybe get more organized? It seems very wasteful both to your wallet but also in general to keep buying multiple mice and then also losing them a lot. All that packaging, shipping, e-waste you’re creating because you can’t just put a tiny effort into being organized. Like if you use a wireless mouse with a laptop just always put it with the laptop? Or always put it in a specific place?
is it fake? he does pretty long live streams.
“Boarding starts 4 hours before the flight because we have to load so many damned passengers and luggage”
To add to your Anakin comments, the idea that he was some chosen, that the Jedi we’re looking for some Messiah seemed lame to me. Just make Anakin a regular guy who becomes a Jedi and then falls to the dark side. It’s been talked to death but Ep1-3 should have been from Obi Wan’s perspective.
Nah it’s not that they ran out of ideas. It’s that the market has changed and there’s no room for risky mid-budget or high budget movies. Back in the day they could make a substantial chunk off of home video sales rather than just the theatrical release. Now streaming is not nearly as lucrative and they have to compete with a ton more forms of media. So when you’re dropping hundreds of millions to make a movie you have to be damn sure it’s gonna draw people to the theaters. So you take fewer risks and make things as wide as possible to appeal to everyone worldwide.
There was a really good 1 hour long YouTube video posted recently that broke it down
“look at me, I’m being a human and toiling my life away shuffling papers!”
I’d love to see it. Looks like they’re only just screening it at film festivals. I hope it gets a wider release or is distributed as public domain
But OP was saying Palestinians not Hamas?
No sources or studies listed. While I’d love to believe it, this graphic is completely untrustworthy by itself. This does not belong on dataisbeautiful.
I also think its super dumb, but at Hyundai’s scale, $20/car adds up to millions of dollars. Though conversely they’re spending like $200 million to make up for all the thefts, higher insurance premiums, etc.
Imagine if the US joined the rest of the civilized world and built high speed rail networks
You signed the agreement, now we get EVERYTHING! I recently enabled duckduckgo’s app tracking protection and it has been eye opening. In the past 7 days it’s blocked 4200+ tracking attempts.
Home Alone. I was Kevin’s age when the move came out and was totally enamored by how badass Kevin was. Now I see it from the adults perspective and I’m like get the cops to break into the house!
Or if I took money from their families to pay for moon missions
That’s not how large democracies work, my friend. It’s not some dictatorship they can instantly move money around to solve problems with. In fact India spends WAYYYYYY more on welfare than it does on ISRO. It’s something like 2 billion USD to 250 billion USD. In fact the problem isn’t just money its how its distributed, corruption, etc. If the Indian government decided to defund ISRO and put that money to welfare, it would be a tiny drop in a massive bucket. Defunding ISRO would also have major ramifications on their aerospace industry, many thousands would be out of jobs, those with higher educations would leave the country to find opportunities. Have you looked at how India is doing with abject poverty in the past 20 years? The graphs are all trending down. Is it perfect? absolutely not. Every country could do something better, India has a lot of things it needs to work on. In my opinion, building up its own indigienous space industry is a net positive for India and is not taking money away from poor people.
What I’m getting at is it’s so easy to criticize a nation for their faults without looking at the complex socioeconomic and political issues at hand.
I understand, it wasn’t a judgement just an observation about how it’ll be interesting to see how Japanese folk receive the film.
