Maybe they got addicted to gacha and burned through a car or houses worth.
Katniss save us!
Rich does make most of their wealth from the working class being convinced to purchase or use their products over other alternatives. I don’t think they’d want the working class to consider other brands because of fear of retaliation and rising insurance costs. Ideally brand would be as appealing to as many demographics as possible to increase the potential consumers to make money from than narrow it.
They try to sell this image of being open platform suing Apple and Android, but then refuse to actually properly support something like Linux. And then remain quiet about cuts when it comes to Xbox and Playstation.
Epic made headlines when Metro Exodus that was set for a steam launch and even had physical copies with the steam logo, abruptly decided to pull their launch after entering into a deal with Epic.

Then came the contracts to not release on Steam. And from the DARQ dev turned out that also included GOG too.
I was contacted by the Epic Store, proposing that I enter into an exclusivity agreement with them instead of releasing DARQ on Steam. They made it clear that releasing DARQ non-exclusively is not an option. I rejected their offer before we had a chance to talk about money.
Free games are nice, but that doesn’t guarantee affection when it comes to paying customers. It wasn’t like this was some small indie company but another billion dollar company trying to pull a Walmart, so some people just weren’t won over by the free games into being happy with the exclusivity deals. Those people weren’t happy having choice forced away.
I still haven’t spent money on epic but I do claim the free games. Yet I will probably never spend money there even though I’ve spent money at GOG, uplay, bnet, and origin because the first impression and approach they took rubbed me the wrong way. So even people who don’t only buy from steam were turned off with the strategy they took.
Now some people don’t care and will buy from there, so this just the point of view of people who dislike Epic.
My fondness for the new trilogy has not improved over time as it did for the prequels. Revenge of the Sith is my favorite.
I think they can be used to reclaim your steam account if you lose access, so that’s why I like to keep mine. And it’s neat.
Most effective would probably be spread of memes of Musk and Nazism being spread making the site so strongly associated with Nazi imagery that companies become afraid of their brand being associated with Nazi support. Brands being tarnished due to strong association is the only type of stuff companies tend to respond to.
Excellent. It’s nice to see active moves to reduce direct visits to Twitter that are often the result of submissions providing links there.
I like that pipepipe provides an option to use a Google account fall back for videos that are age verified, since those don’t work anymore without an account.
And they got a content filter update too so can block channels and keywords.
I was going to recommend android apps until I saw iOS. I don’t know anyones that let you keep a local subscription like newpipe does without needing to sideload. So if there are I’d be interested.
I think Möbius Sync might work to get syncthing working for iOS.
I haven’t seen a quality improvement. Only a production improvement which had made the wait even worse when the long awaited seasons flop like The Boys and House of the Dragon.
It’s reason I haven’t bothered to get into shows like Severance despite good reviews, since I don’t want to get hooked into yet another show that will take forever between seasons and not even be a guarantee to be worth the wait.
I wonder if 2+ years between seasons is also having an impact.
I pick up new shows way less than I did in the past because of this with the ones I do being more tied to whether it is a miniseries or source material I plan to read after the season ends to finish it out on my own.
Maybe a millionaire like him not receiving the fix for bad knees which would be great even if he chose not to do more John Wick for an improved quality of life shows that aspect of medicine is still not within reach for now.
Watching at home is more affordable and convenient. Even going out to the movie theater is time consuming having to drive there and find parking then drive back if you don’t live in a place close to the theater even if prices were reasonable.
I hate that I didn’t know the second ended on a cliff hanger when I watched it. Wish I had known, since I would have avoided it and waited for the third movie to watch it all. Cliff hanger still passes me off.
Brilliant resource! Thank you for sharing it.
