While I’m not here to justify the enormous amount of money they’re paid, much much more than “essential” workers that been shoved down our throats that actually make the country run.

You have to factor in numerous things. These people travel a lot and obviously that can rack up in a short period of time. Furthermore, their homes are obviously pricier to maintain especially if in multiple locations, far more costly than the average apartment rent. There’s also a number of things that they have to contribute and usually they don’t have a safety net because their money is finite.

But of course that depends on the actor/actress and if there’s a big demand for them, that’s a huge thing in the entertainment industry. These are jobs that do not promise you that you’ll be earning money as compared to a retail job on a consistent and set schedule basis. You need to be marketable. You need to have the right qualities. You need to actually be variable i.e do many roles and do them well. The line is very narrow when it comes to entertainment.

Now things like why bad actors/actresses get top billing anyways or why some actors/actresses are paid far more than everyone else, it comes down to favorability and ass-kissing I guess.

Nobody can fucking win with either option anymore.

So you’re disgruntled with Mozilla now, so you hop to Chrome. But you learn that Chrome has neutered the way you were once able to have dodged ads. Whoops! Now that’s a problem, in addition to knowing how data-hungry Google has been for a while.

What’re you left with? Edge? Edge has recently announced that it too neutered ad-blockers and it’s not open source and they’re just as data-hungry because now you’re dealing with Microsoft.

So now Firefox, Edge and Chrome are all off the table now because they all went the route of enshittification.

Opera? Can’t trust opera because of it’s ties to a chinese company so that’s either here or there. Chromium? Back to dealing with Google again! Brave? The CEO is an asshat, targeted ads, cryptobullshit .etc

All that we’re realistically down to is just Firefox forks. IceDragon, Weasel, LibreWolf and all of them. Plenty of options but updates and development varies.

What choice…

I think the painful reality is, is that the availability of good honest, privacy focused browsers are narrowing. Mozilla just had to go and make it harder. I’m personally using LibreWolf myself.

Aside from the lack of protection against bad faith, I’m for the act.

America is not entirely immune from the problems you’ve seen in Europe. Different continents, different sets of problems. America’s problem is how it takes any and every chance it has had, to be a more prosperious country and pisses it away by allowing very few rich people and corporations take it entirely over.

And it is at the expense of the populace. What’s there to be grateful for when YOUR country is the one offering free healthcare, when America has pressurized it’s people in a ‘pay or die’ situation?
