When I have 2 notifications in the inbox it says I have 3 and so on. Is it possible someone blocked me and therefore I cannot see a message from them? How does blocking work? Do I see messages of people who blocked me?

I have seeing them disabled in my settings. Thanks for the info. I’ll check the next time.

I’m glad it is gone, but I suppose it doesn’t answer the question of what this hidden message was. Thankfully messages don’t actually disappear just because you cleared the notification. You could investigate your past messages list still.
